Best Darn Fried Chicken and Greens!. I remember this spot used to just go there for the fried chicken and collard greens yep! they knew me on the regular I got the fried chicken, collard greens, & their cornbread is to die for OMG! Miss this place. You got to go check this place out and get that grease in you.
Huge portions of good ole soul food… Christian music playing everything is named after Obama….. I love Jesus and can’t stand Obama. That being said Jesus is Love and so it the service and food here.
Love love love this place! The food is awesome. Visited from Louisiana, was very impressed with the food and great service. The best gravy, and that key lime cake was unbelievably good! I wish there was a place remotely as good as Olean’s in Lafayette, La. Another plus is, the restaurant is right across from the highly acclaimed HBCU FAMU!!02 Apr, 2012AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! The gravy, fried chicken, fried fish, sides, key lime cake, Jesus Passion juice!!! YUMMY!!! I’m from Louisiana, and Olean’s is the best food I’ve ever had!!! HANDS DOWN!
We liked this place. We went for breakfast. We stayed and ate there, but a steady and growing line of people steamed in for take out as well. Not fancy, but it appeared to be a local favorite. Our food was good and the people were very nice. Give it a try.
Eating breakfast at Orleans is almost a religious experience! Sweet Ms Orleans greeting people at the counter and thanking everyone for coming. Spiritual music fills the air while we fill our bellies with eggs, cheese grits, fried pork chops and chicken. Eat local!
Oleans is comfort food defined. Great breakfast AND lunch offerings! I took the chitterlings plunge here and, while I still haven’t developed the full appreciation for them, I knew there’d be no better! Today’s breakfast with the wife was great – she had Oleans omelette and I the cornbeef hash w cheese grits and eggs.
