A restaurant that happens to be a sports bar!. If you want a sports bar you can go to and have a real meal and not leave smelling like smoke, this is it. The pepperoni rolls, steak salad, pampas steak sandwich, wings, and brownie bites are just some of the highlights. Not your average sports bar food.

Next Leve Grub!. As a Tallahassee native I love to support the local restaurants over the chains. So well Parlay Sports Bar and Grill opened I had to try it. When I first walked in I knew this wasnt the average sports bar by far; very clean, and modern dcor. Parlay has a fun and friendly staff and tons of great drink specials. I was really impressed with the regional, craft, and import selections for the beer. The real thing that impressed me was the food! Simple sandwiches with high end flair, where each ingredient seems to be well thought out and taste AMAIZING! I had the Pamapas steak sandwich thinly sliced steak, a fried egg, and a Spanish themed sauce made of garlic, herbs and spices called Aji, then topped with little potato sticks. The bread was fresh and soft, with the right amount of chew. I had a side of the sweet potato fries that came with a cinnamon dipping condiment. Also a cool option is the choice to Parlay your order with a smaller portion of their crafty appetizers. I chose to go with the pepperoni rolls, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni rolled in a wonton wrapper the fried, and served with a side marinara sauce to dip. With all the T.V.s , friendly staff, amazing food, and awesome beer selection Parlay is going to be my go to spot for all my sporting events, and just a good old belly full of good grub.

A step above usual bar food. I first went to Parlay because I had heard they had dozens of TV’s and a great draft beer selection. I have gotten used to sports bar menus being more of an afterthought to the bar idea. I was curious so I checked out the menu, from the looks of it food was much more of a focus here than most of its competitors so I took a chance. The California burger was a real surprise, a great patty (foundation of any good burger), nice toasted bun, fresh avocado slices not canned avocado pulp. On later visits I have discovered the chicken tacos make a great light snack and the nachos are great too! These are the only nachos I have ever had where I ran out of chips before the meat, cheese and toppings were gone. Don’t order the full-sized nachos unless you have some help, but they offer a half-sized portion also, even then you will probably need a to-go box. In all, my favorite sports bar. All the games, great food, good beers on tap, and probably the nicest staff in town.

Pleasantly Surprised. The first time I walked into Parlay I expected a dingy little local sports bar with typical pub grub. Boy was I wrong. The first thing you notice is how bright and clean everything is. I don’t want to bag on my home city here, but this place doesn’t look like it belongs in Tallahassee.I was pleased to see a surprisingly robust selection of craft beers. A gentleman stopped by while we were perusing the menu, introduced himself as the owner, and we spent a pleasurable few minutes discussing the various breweries and the selections they had available. It was nice to see someone familiar with the product they are selling for a change. They have a miniature stadium. I can’t stress enough how cool this feature is. Three or four rows of seats (I can’t remember exactly, those craft beers pack a punch) in tiers, facing an enormous wall of televisions. I may just live here when football season starts back up. They also have regular tables and booths. The menu is a fairly standard collection of appetizers, wings, burgers and sandwiches, but the quality was surprising. We ordered the pepperoni rolls to start off. They were served in a flaky wonton wrapper (I had to ask) that really added a unique touch to the melted cheese and pepperoni inside. For our meals I had the Fat Boy and my date had the club sandwich. The Fat Boy is a double burger that has grilled cheese sandwiches instead of a bun, and is enormous. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium as I requested, and may possibly be the most decadent thing I’ve ever eaten. The leftovers fed me for another couple of meals. The club was also large, the ingredients were fresh, and the addition of their signature bacon mayonnaise topped it all off nicely. There isn’t a whole lot you can say about french fries, but ours were pleasantly crispy and well seasoned. After our meal we retired to the large outdoor patio to finish our beers and play a couple of games of darts. I’ve always lamented the lack of enough outdoor seating in Tallahassee, and it’s nice to have another option.I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the obvious love for his business shown by the owner (I forgot his name, but thank you for the beer recommendation young man!), and above all the quality of the food.We will definitely be back.
