Service and atmosphere was wonderful but something must have been wrong in the kitchen on graduation, May 3. Steaks were tough and low quality.

Poor service. The new ownership of Shula’s needs to be concerned. Had a private party pre-scheduled for Dec. 20th 2013 at 7pm. Several emails and phone calls had been exchanged prior to this date with the event cordinator of Shula’s to make sure everything was arranged correctly – Wine list, menu choices, preferences etc due to some persons in the party being vegan. There was even a day of event email just to reconfirm one more time.Well – Upon arrival of guest to the event, they were shown to the private event area. Approx 10-15 minutes after the guess had been standing around, a waiter started asking for drink orders. However- what had been arranged was wine to be served as guess arrived so they would not have to incure a drink expense. Also appetizers were to be served buffet style from a side table. Needless to say there was no side table and one had to be brought in at 730pm. Appetizers arrived shortly there after. Once again though only part of the items arrived- all meat and cheeze based foods. The vegan guest had to wait another 15 minutes for appitizers they could enjoy. It was also noted the table was set for only 12 people, even though the guest list was 14. Guest were forced to squeeze in to all have a seat.Things continued to go down hill from there. The meal was not brought out until almost 900pm. Guest sat and had to wonder what was going on and basicly find for themselves during the long waits. The event corrdinator for Shula’s was very apologetic and excepted all responsiblity for the errors. Near the end of the meal, which by the way is now almost 1100pm ,the manager becomes heavily involved. Seeing that it is time for the bill to be paid. At first the manager wants to do nothing to accomidate for all the time and errors related to the event, Eventually the manager did offer to take a percentage off the bill, but only after extensive complaining. Just as another note… the tab for this event which has been held a Shula’ s over the past 4 years usually runs around $2000.00. Well enough of that…. our business will go elsewhere from now on. Others be aware….. the new ownership and management does a very poor job.

Shula. Definitely not worth the 30 minute wait for entrees or worth the money, thankfully the valet was complimentary

I am surprised with the high ratings. Shula’s, outside of Mozaik, are two of the most over-priced restaurants here in town. I have given this place 3 tries, once on a bachelor party, and the steaks were cooked incorrectly on every occasion. I order my steaks rare, one time the waitress shined her light in my first cut and said it was rare, even though it was brown. One of her associates corrected her, and brought out a new one, but for a $30+ steak, it needs to be right the first time with no exceptions.

Awesome food definitely my favorite place in Tallahassee. If you’re looking for a great steak they have the best in town by far. Crab cakes are all crab and no filler which was very nice and extremely delicious. I loved their macaroni and cheese side dish, I ended up getting 3 side orders to go of it. If you’re in tally there’s no better meal than shulas. I’ve been to 4 different shulas and this is easily favorite one. High class but no tablecloths were Kindof awkward, but I spoke with the manager once who told me that the idea behind shulas 347 was that it could be a place where you could go in and have a 12$ burger or a 15$ piece of chicken, and at the same time be high end and still feature their classic porterhouse steak on the menu. It’s a fusion that is meant to draw more customers , even In hard economic times. Prices are very reasonable for a restaurant of this class.
