The pulled pork is always tender and tasty. The beans are a bit too sweet for me. Mac n cheese was decent. The turkey was also great. I’d choose both of those over the brisket.
The hosts are always MIA at Capital Circle Location!. Capital Circle Location: UPDATE: Returned several more time and there is NEVER a host at the host stand. This is a pet peeve and shows that management is making the host do other tasks and ignore the customers when they enter. Good food, yet more times than not there is no one at the hostess stand when you arrive. One has to stand there hoping the HOST will walk by and notice that a paying customer has entered and would like service.If one goes close to closing time the management does not have the class to train their employees to not sweep around the tables where diners are still eating. They close at 9:30 yet were taking booths apart and sweeping up piles of garbage next to diners still eating at 8:30. The fries need to be crispier.Wake-up Sonny’s! Some simple basic rules in accommodating your guests need to be implemented and followed here.
Do the salad bar. I’ve eaten at this chain before but never had the salad buffet. I did it this time as a meal add on. I found the quality and variety of the lettuce and toppings to be very good. There was also dessert options (jello, pudding, and coconut covered banana). The meal itself was good too. I had the pulled pork combo with a sweet potato.
Good BBQ. I had lunch and got the big brisket sandwich. It was as good as Rib Crib from back in Oklahoma although the meat was not as lean. It was smoky and delicious, and the sweet BBQ was mouth-watering. I think the meal was under $7.
While the food isn’t amazing it’s fairly cheap and consistent. I recommend the pulls pork sandwich. The sweet tea is absurdly sweet, if that’s your thing. Last time I was there it was playing 80’s alternative music over the speakers.
