Pretty good sushi not the absolute best in tally but not bad. The Thai food is pretty average I would say good flavor but nothing special, a lot of people love this place but I only see it as ok. I think the Thai could be more authentic. Overall though a nice place, good service and decent food.

Hidden in Plain Sight. Tally Thai and Sushi is hidden in plain sight and I’m ashamed to say it took me 4 years of being in Tallahassee to find it because I was pleased on every level. The Thai Tea was unlike any tea I’ve tried before: cool, creamy, and sweet, but not too rich. The consistency reminded me of milk and it played well with the sushi and appetizer my table ordered. I was also able to try one of the Japanese beers, Sapporo, which was light and pleasant.Tuna Tartaki in Sesame Ponzu sauce was a nice start to the meal. It was served cold and I personally felt like the sauce made for the majority of the flavor. It was served over julienned carrots and arugula. The variety of sushi available was unbelievable. It was difficult to choose one because of how great everything sounded, but after it was all said and done I was able to try the Miami Heat Roll (the table’s personal favorite), the Red Wolf Roll, the FSU Roll, and the basic Tuna Roll.We closed out with a dessert of tempura ice cream that was breaded perfectly and had wonderful presentation. Frankly, the presentation of every plate we received was beautiful and you could tell that much care was taken in the creation. The server, Nathan, was fast and friendly. He did an excellent job of making us feel totally comfortable. The kitchen staff was also very quick despite the care that was taken in making our lovely plates. The establishment itself is very small (maybe enough for 30 people when full), but well decorated. The high ceilings and minimalist style make up in charm what the place lacks in space.

Best sushi in tallahassee!. Finally found my great sushi chef after about a year! I use to eat sushi at Siam Sushi, but the guy who made the best sushi there suddenly disappeared! Well come to find out he opened his own place, and now I am getting supreme sushi again! definitely try this place out! The chef I’m talking about is krisna, nobody compares to this guys sushi making skills! and try the trust me roll, you won’t regret it!

The Food Vs. Server Dilemma. I will begin by saying that Tally Thai and Sushi has above average sushi that I do enjoy. However, is that really enough? I have been to this restaurant for either dine-in or take-out on 5 occasions. Each time the food has been delicious. However, is that really enough? There is a problem ongoing at this restaurant that will prevent me from continuing to enjoy their food. That’s right, poor service… or server (1 person). Without going into great detail, on 4 of the 5 occasions I’ve gotten food from Tally Thai I have had one of the most inept servers in Tallahassee either ruin my meal, fail to put in the order for my meal, give me the wrong food entirely, or just awkwardly mumble strange things as he stands 10 feet away from the table. I digress. Good food. Terrible server.

Worst service in the world! I called for pick up and she said it would be 15-20 minutes an hour later I’m still waiting for my food. I overheard her on the phone with other customers tell them that their food would only be 20 minutes too. When I asked the hostess what the hold up was she said it would be out when it’s ready. She was so rude. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE!

New favorite spot in Tally.. I’ve only had take out so far but both times the food was amazing! The Panang Curry with hot spiciness and chicken is delicious and about $10 for quite a lot of food. Also, try the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups…both are outstanding. Both times I picked up the place was packed, and it’s easy to see why.
