The best Asian food in town. The food is always fresh made to order. The prices are far the service is great. I give Tan’s Asian Cafe two thumbs up.

Best Asian food in town hands down! Whenever I crave Asian food, I always pick up some food from Tan’s. Just thinking about their sesame chicken and pork egg rolls makes me salivate! I can’t say enough good things.

Driving through Tallahassee, we decided to stop here because of the reviews and we wanted to try Indonesian cuisine. They have a normal Chinese menu that you find at any other restaurant and then have a distinct section for the Indonesian. I would say the food is mediocre. We ordered Lumpia, Laksa and Javanese fried rice. The lumpia isn’t like the Filipino lumpia, not that I know if there’s a difference, but more like a egg roll. It was good though! The laksa had a good curry flavor but the chicken was a bit dry and it was warm not hot like I expected my soup to be. The fried rice was a lot of food with an egg patty on top not a sunny side up egg. While both the laksa and fried rice weren’t bad they were just not anything out of this world.

The food here is authentic and delicious. The Indonesian food was comforting and yummy and the lo mein was the best I’ve ever had. They were not serving sushi which made me sad even though they had it on the menu. Prices were more than I expected seeing as reviews said inexpensive but I wouldn’t say that. The owner is super friendly and checked on us often. Atmosphere is lacking but food makes up for it!

Tan’s is another of my favorite restaurants in Tallahassee. They have recently expanded their place, and it is much nicer now. The also have several Indonesian dishes, Which is something different for sure. I recommend Tans!

Got some take out the other day and half of my combo was white rice. They are being cheap must have to pay for the new expansion. Overpriced!04 Apr, 2015Weekend buffet 26.99 per person. WAY too high…..lol 9.99 on the weekdays. Very small buffet.

This place has changed…. I haven’t been into Tan’s since they started the buffet but the last few times I went, I was quite disappointed. It seems that their portions have gone down while prices rise. I understand having to raise prices if inventory costs go up, but not a change in both. Their Rica Rica is good, but not for the price anymore. Their other indonesian fare is good but not memorable. I used to love their dumplings but they seem to have changed from home-made to frozen. Their in-house made hot sauce is really good and will have your mouth on fire.
