Amazing service and beautiful decor. In addition to great service for the meal, the management were very kind. Specifically, when I lost the receipt (needed for reimbursement at my job) two days after I ate there, they were willing (and able) to recreate it. Regarding the food: the steak kabobs were great (perfectly cooked and seasoned), but the rice pilaf was bland. The dessert options were limited and not amazing. The price was high for the quality of the food, but you really are paying for the smashing good service and ambience.

This place has amazing real food and real flavors, not to mention an amazing atmosphere. I love the hint of middle eastern influence. It’s not as expensive as people say 🙂

The Edison is almost a great restaurant. It certainly looks the part. The building and atmosphere couldn’t be more on trend and plush. Cocktail menu was creative and well-executed. And then things started a bit downhill for me. The Bibb Wedge salad was drowning in a simple vinaigrette – since bibb lettuce doesn’t really quarter, it comes off as a salad with outsized leaves of lettuce. Bread was similarly disappointing – it was advertised as fried, which I thought could be interesting (like yeasted beignets, I imagined) – but instead it was slices of fairly run of the mill sandwich bread that had been fried, taking all of the lightness out of the equation. I finished with the Shrimp and Grits, which like the other dishes was a bit clumsy and overly rich. Nothing was truly terrible (except the bread), but it didn’t come close to living up to the potential of a place this beautiful with this kind of buzz.
