Had dinner here a while back, Everything was good old southern fried seafood. It all seemed pretty fresh and was cooked very well. Served piping hot. The only drawback I could see was the variety of the selections. Would definitely eat here again

Found this place on this app. Had good reviews mostly and I love trying local joints when I’m traveling. I ordered the catfish dinner, which was the special. Served with hush puppies which were great (and since I can’t get them very often in Ohio I try to get them when I’m in a seafood state!), cheese grits – these were ok, not bad but kinda bland; Coleslaw – typically I don’t get coleslaw but since it’s homemade I thought I’d give it a try – better than most restaurant coleslaw; and finally, grilled potatoes. The grilled potatoes were yummy. Sliced like home fries, marinated overnight (in what I’m not sure) then grilled with onions. Yum yum. OH! And the catfish!! Duh. The catfish was excellent. Light breading and crispy not mushy. Fish was done perfectly. Tarter sauce was good too. They have homemade pies and since they didn’t have the Derby Pie (which was described as having chocolate chips & pecans) they had the buttermilk pie. I have never heard of this before (again, Ohio) so I ordered a slice to-go and sadly have not tried it yet as I’m still full from dinner! Wanted to get my review done before I forgot. Perhaps I’ll update later. In the meantime I would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates local, no frills, just good food joints.

Best fried Bay scallops I have ever had. Hands down. Excellent fried shrimp. It’s so easy to overcook that stuff but they were very lightly battered and cooked to perfection. Shared the Seafood Platter with my girlfriend so we could try a little bit of everything. Perfect amount of food for two people. This is a true family owned and operated joint with great service. Grandpa catches the shrimp and grandma helps cook it up. Hushpuppies, grits and cole slaw also very good. The hush puppies were real standouts for me. I found the crab cake a little over seasoned and could really taste the bread crumbs, however, I may try it again sometime not fried. Also, I found the blackened Grouper was just average and I could taste too much of what I think was some kind of fake butter. Whirl? But I would probably try it again-especially on a sandwich. All in all, worth the trip across down.

Several visits for lunch recently. The grouper or shrimp baskets are excellent and more than filling. The food comes out hot and tasty. A plus: their french fries come from peeled potatoes. Strictly a no-frills eatery, but the wait staff is attentive and pleasant.

Excellent casual seafood joint. Don’t let the location, tucked in a strip mall, fool you. The inside is barn red and sunny. The wait staff is super friendly and the fish is very fresh. Love their fried oysters and shrimp. Homemade cocktail, tatar sauces and coleslaw are good too. Stop by and support this local, non chain eatery! You will love it!

Excellent and Fresh Seafood. The food is delicious! It’s brought in fresh from the gulf down in Carrabelle, FL, where the original Fisherman’s Wife Restaurant is located. The owners are super friendly! Large portions. The atmosphere is not fancy, but the food and service is fabulous!

Wonderful!!. The oysters were some of the best I have ever eaten! Fresh and they melt in your mouth. I got the basket and for the price would like a few more oysters and could do without the grits (as when you get a basket you don’t want all the extra sides). I will definitely return and try the shrimp next. I noticed all the customers were pleased with their orders and were raving about how good the food is. This should be on the list of one of the best seafood restaurants around. Great menu, delicious food, very clean, and good service.
