I’ve been going to China Yuan for years now and every once and again I’ll venture out and try a new dim sum place that pops up, but I always find myself back at China Yuan when I want good, authentic dim sum like the kind I ate growing up in Chinatown New York. Dishes that are consistently superb: Shrimp dumplingsHouse pan fried noodlesShrimp/beef rice pastePan fried pork dumplingsCrispy duckI also always get the hot tea. Price is right here…not like other dim sum restaurants in Tampa who think it’s okay to charge $3.50 for a pot of hot oolong tea.
Delicious and authentic Chinese food! This isn’t your Americanized strip mall Chinese food.
Not sure what all the rave reviews are about. First of all the place is not that well kept. The service was pathetic at best. The food was decent nothing to get excited about.it is just a little bit better then most of the Americanized Chinese places in Tampa. Will definitely try somewhere else on our quest for good dim sum in the Bay Area.
We called for reservations and they said that they did not take reservations. We made the pilgrimage to Tampa anyway. The wait would not have been so bad if the wait staff was not so incompetent. There were at least 4 tables empty that needed to be cleaned off. We watched 4 waiters walk by them each time while over 20 people waited by the door to be seated. After Finally being seated the service was slow also. The food also took a long tome to come out. When it finally arrived it was good. Our family liked the wide variety of dishes. We really enjoyed it. We asked for boxes to go at the end of the meal. Again we waited an eternity. I had to remind the waiter that we asked for boxes before. It seemed like the waiter disappeared again. Based on the inept service, we will not be back.

I fell in love with this restaurant!!!. They got my fav. dim sum. Their sesame balls were one of the best I have ever had!Beef and egg over rice was very tasty and Roast pork was good too (very reasonable for the amount you get). The service is okay…it is a chinese restaurant so I did not expect a good service anyways. I would love to go back when I have a chance!!
Found this place years ago and have been a steady customer Real good dumplings. Crispy fish is the freshest
