After a rocky start things settled in. First, the hostess seated our party of four at one of their many booths with two diners in our party having to look upon the kitchen, i.e. no water view. There were many 4-tops open, so we asked to be moved to allow ALL of us a view of the bay at sunset. Second, we were seated what seemed like ten minutes before our waiter, Kevin, came by.From this point forward the service was very cordial & attentive. My sauteed mahi was fresh & flaky & came with a black bean/white rice/broccolini side & an lemon sauce that complimented everything wonderfully. Everyone else was pleased with their whole lobster, salmon, & snapper. $82 + tip for two fish entrees, one house wine, & two beers. A little pricey, but, hey, you’re paying a little for the view too. We’d come back.
Sunday brunch is disappointing. We went to brunch there this past Sunday (2/8) and we were really disappointed for the price (over $50 pp). The yolk on the eggs benedict I picked up was cooked solid (although my mom’s was runny). Almost all the hot food on the buffet was cold (probably due to the improvised setup). The carrot muffin I picked up was quite good and the lamb osso bucco was tender but pretty much everything else fell short (especially dessert). Service was good and the view is beautiful but we wouldn’t go back because of the food. twofoodiesinlove.wordpress.com
Just had coffee and dessert…coffee was awesome, but the Sticky Date Pudding is one of the best things you will ever put in your mouth! The service was awesome and the manager/owner is a genuinely nice fella! Really enjoyed our sunset over the bay from the back deck!
Great food, great view!. Oystercatchers2900 bay port driveTampa fl We stopped here for lunch after arriving at the nearby Tampa international airport. The restaurant is only 5 min from the airport located in the Hyatt. Upon exiting the airport you have to cross all lanes heading towards st Pete to make the exit to oystercatchers There are several turns to make but the landscaping were all neatly manicured and well kept. The panoramic view of Tampa bay offered on the covered outdoor deck were also great. There’s valet parking too. We shared appetizers of raw oysters and calimari. The oysters were briney and the calimari was probably the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly asking and remembering our names. Our entrees were on the table quickly and were all prepared well. It was a little pricy but the scenic view and excellent food service was worth it.I’ll be going back here on my next trip to the area.Urban Cowgill
Excellent. Great seafood and kitchen. Location is very good. However, the price will knock you off your chair.
Brunch was fair. I’ve lived in Tampa just about my whole like and never been out to Oystercatchers. Tried it for brunch this Sunday and need to rate it fare. The food was mediocre although the selection was impressive – it may be that I’ve heard for some many years how AWESOME it is that I had higher expectations. Three of us in our party and the bill before gratuity was $150. This does include champagne, mimosas, bloody bar and we had two beers. Nothing really wowed me in regards to selection/taste – pretty standard omelet station, pasta station, carving station, several salads, chilled seafood station, dessert stations, so again lots of options but maybe fewer options and better execution may make for a better experience.
Great Restaurant. I have to say, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. Easily the best seafood in Tampa. Creative dishes, everything is done perfectly. Chef Hector is a food genius. I highly recommend this restaurant.
