I’m not a sushi or seafood fan, but I enjoyed their sushi rolls. The best is called the Hawaiian roll. It’s made with coconut shrimp, mango, and avocado. I ordered the sukhothai chicken with the three spices. Delicious sauce made with red and green onion, the chicken was freshly cooked and of good quality, and the vegetables i added mixed well. If you are dieting- you can choose to have brown rice which was cooked perfectly. If you love fish , they have many varieties. My boyfriend forced me to eat a some sort of fish sushi and it was good. I think they cook all their fish, even in sushi. If the employees hadn’t have been talking so loudly at the end of the night, as we were the only ones there, id say it was a fun and romantic atmosphere. You have the option to take off your shoes and sit on the floor! And- sake!! (Originally accidentally wrote this on the dale mabry location)
BEST THAI FOOD AROUND. I have always gone for lunch & they are the best! I get the #7 Chicken with mixed vegetable and onion in red curry sauce served with chicken wings yummmmm so good! I continue to go here & plan on going today!
So, we started off with a couple of sushi rolls…. The Red Dragon Roll and the Hawaiian Roll…Allow me to say, Hawaiian Roll, best thing… EVER. Its tempura shrimp with cream cheese, topped with mango and avocado slices.. drizzled with a pineapple sauce… OMG!! the crunch of the tempura mixed with the sweetness of the mango, just amazing. I usually like typical raw sushi, but this by far tops any other roll I’ve ever had. We had the spring rolls everyone raved about, and they were very good. For our main course, I had the Massaman chicken… I’m not one for very spicy foods, so when they asked how spicy I wanted it, I was pretty thrilled. I told them I wanted it as mild as possible without having to compensate any flavor. My friend ordered the Duck Curry. She ordered it medium spice, and said it was amazing, but had some fire behind it, as it is curry. I didn’t try it. My meal however, was fantastic. Not spicy at all. The flavor of the peanut sauce was on point and delicious. It is traditionally served with rice, but I had mine with noodles instead. The portion is so large that it is enough for two meals. AWESOME!! So good, I can’t wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.Atmosphere…. was okay. it is a small little place with three options for seating. They have bar seating, tables and then traditional seating on the floor. We opted for the traditional seating to add to the experience. It was comfortable and quaint. The decorations were nothing over the top and not modernized by any means, but it was cute. I much rather the intimate setting anyhow. Our waitress was on point. Our food didn’t take too long at all. By the time we were done with our spring rolls, our sushi came out…by the time we were done with our sushi, our meals came out. It was all such perfect timing. Whenever our drinks got low, our waitress was right there ready to refill. She was very attentive and just… on point. I even tipped her like… thirty percent. Good service is key to a good meal if you ask me. The whole thing overall was awesome, I will definitely go back anytime I’m craving Thai, and it is going to be hard to go anywhere else for sushi after that Hawaiian roll.
I’ve never been there for dinner, but they have the best lunch around. Sushi is always fresh, other dishes are delicious, serviceis always very friendly. Really like this place for lunch.
Best Thai Place in Tampa. Sukhothai does very well with both their Thai food and their sushi rolls.Their pork dishes are phenomenal. Meat is always cooked to perfection and their sauces are fabulous. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Tampa and I will continue going here for a long time.
BEST SUSHI. Loved everything there, great food great service. Incredible Sushi !! you haven’t eaten Sushi till you have eaten there.
Clean appearance, but almost feels sterile of decor. Floor seating, table, or sushi bar. Very friendly staff that is attentive and helpful. Price is high for the size and quality sushi (rolls had chunks not slices, rice wrap and seaweed wrap is minimal). I feel like more of the price is for the area of town than the food. The sushi chef did make sure I enjoyed my food, and I liked the presentation of the food. I might visit again if I couldn’t go to my regular sushi or Thai place.
