Periodically I visit Tarpon Springs for the day for some good Greek food. I usually frequent Yiannis Greek Cuisine, however the parking attendant highly recommended Costa’s. To try something different I went to Costa’s instead. To begin, we sat for nearly 20 mins before we were given a menu. This place was a no frills, almost hole in the wall sort of spot, which I didn’t mind as much had the food been good. We ordered a Shrimp Saganaki, Greek Salad, and Spinach Pie. The food was terrible. Afterwards, both myself and my partner suffered severe food poisoning and were very ill. I made an attempt to call the restaurant and speak with management. I never got a phone call back. I will never eat there again and I would hope the health department do an investigation on their cleanliness as we were both very ill. I was thoroughly disappointed and will never visit this restaurant again.
We always come here after a morning beach trip to Howard Park. Good traditional food, one block away from the big mess down the main drag in Tarpon Springs. My wife tried the octopus for the first time.
Very disappointing. Be careful if you have an Amazon Local special. There is a special menu, which is fine, but we were treated differently the minute we showed the voucher (paid over $30.00 for it). Food was good, but service was terrible. Asked about the special stipulations (paying cash for tax and tip only) and was told not worry, and then we were treated rudely. Will never go back. We even emailed restaurant to follow up and never heard back. If tax and tip were cash only, this should have been on the voucher.
Lunch review. This was our 4th time dining here. Loved it the first three times but didn’t like it this time. Food went downhill. The gyros meat tasted like it was cut much earlier in the day or maybe even yesterday and then kept warm until they served it. No way did it have the taste or texture that it was freshly sliced before serving. The saganaki was very greasy and just tasted blah. The place was empty and yet the other places in the area were packed. Was so surprised especially when it was so good before. Don’t think we will go back.
Food was middle if the road. Service was bad. I got the vibe that everyone working there was family. If that’s true they’ve been doing this for so long that they must be board of either their food or the public. I asked what the specials were. The waitress didn’t know and wasn’t excited about reading them to us. The food came out quickly. Too quickly. I wasn’t done with my appetizer and my salad came out. I hadn’t finished either and my dinner came out. Half the lamb I had was very good. The other half was not good at all. The octopus was just okay. I’ve had much better. The salad could have used some herbs. The food was good but not great. And no one seemed interested that we were there.
We had our first visit to the restaurant this past Sunday. It was highly recommend by John. We were not disappointed. Delicious! We would return and would recommend.
