Nice atmosphere and quality thai cuisine. The Bangkok Jazz Temptation was a delicious, a good choice for anyone trying Thai for the first time- the curry based krab rangoon was awesome. The shrimp pad thai was also very good- shrimp were fresh and level 1 and 4 spicy were both great
I’ve been to this restaurant on several occasions previous to this afternoon and the food was decent. Today however, I was truly unimpressed I ordered the pad prig kha which is a dish I love but not today. It came in a small tin package, I ordered it to go, with rice that was stained orange by grease. There was probably half a cup of grease in this dish it was almost inedible. I was truly appalled I love this dish and have never had it served like this, sure there has been some greasy portions in the past but nothing like this. There are many positive reviews here, maybe it was an off day but I doubt that I’ll be back anytime soon.
Groupon customer. My husband and I went there for dinner. We had previously purchased a groupon and wanted to use it. My husband had ordered sushi and I had ordered pad Thai. At the end of our dinner, we told our waitress we wanted to use the groupon to pay, she said we couldn’t use it bc we didn’t only order sushi. I looked at fine print on my groupon and there was nothing about that. She called the manager to our table and she was rude. She said out loud so other people can hear her, that we could not use the groupon for that same reason. We left very disappointed and upset. We will never visit this place again and neither will our friends!
Great Yum Beef. I get the yum beef every time, although I think they call it crying tiger salad. Whatever, it’s still amazing. I just think the portion could be a bit better.-Eater of Yum Beef
Great food and a great atmosphere! Fried duck was very good!
Jazz and thai food. Have been to Bangkok Jazz several times and it has always been great. The food has always been above average, the staff welcoming and the atmosphere unique. I thought it was strange the pairing of live jazz music and thai but somehow it works. Stop by if you are in the area, you won’t be dissapointed.
If they didn’t have Jazz, I wouldn’t eat here. The first thing I typically get from any new Thai place is the Pad Thai. I’ve been to several in Austin with some excellent Pad Thai, and I was very underwhelmed by what they served me here. It tasted more like what I would make at home after pulling a recipe off the internet, rather than authentic thai food. And to top it off, I asked for it to be made spicy (not American spicy, but Thai spicy), and you could have fed it to a cat no problem.By the time we finished our meal and started on dessert, the band got set up and started playing. They looked like a group of USF college kids that landed one of their first gigs, and sounded like it too. Not bad, but far from great. It was more like I felt classy because I was listening to live jazz at a restaurant. If I could describe Bangkok Jazz, it would be mediocre, or worth visiting if someone else is paying for your meal.
