Had dinner at Tokyo Sushi Bar last night. Food was OUTSTANDING. Service great.
Disgusting sushi & horrible management!! I ordered sashimi and it tasted like 2 day one fish. When I tried to speak to the manager about my $15 order of old fish she told me I had already touched the fish with my chopsticks so I couldn’t send it back. I ended up not eating any of the food and she wouldn’t discount it or substitute it for anything! Then when trying to find someone else I could speak to she said she is the only manager and refused to tell me any more information! So unsatisfying!
Not fresh. The best thing I enjoy about sushi is its unique fresh taste. Its really the only variable I rate sushi restaurants by. Unfortunately, I found Tokyo Sushi Bar to not only to be poor but near inedible. The rolls had an off taste and was clearly day old product. Its possible I simply came at an off time and this is not their norm, but its enough to keep me from returning.
Richie’s triple tataki, or Danni’s surprise me roll. Will seal the deal on the best sushi in Tampa
Dinner at Tokyo!. Tokyo sushi was good… the food was very good, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Honestly I have no complaints, but the overall experience (atmosphere, quality of food, quality of service) was ok, but not awesome. Good place to eat, not too pricey.
I found a new favorite sushi spot!!! I do only cooked rolls, and found their variety very interesting. They have steamed shrimp, combo shrimp/fish baked rolls, and their traditional rolls (Mexican, Tampa) are really big and fresh. Great quality and great service! Try the Armand and Frank rolls!!!
Nothing Special. I had heard great things about Tokyo Sushi Bar, including an all-you-can-eat sushi menu for around $20. Sadly, the reviews were incorrect. No such option is available, although they do have tempting early bird specials. Service was attentive, on the upside. The restaurant is plainly decorated, lacking any serious atmosphere. Music playing was of the pop variety, nothing near what I might hear at other sushi bars. The food itself was of fair quality, and they do offer a huge variety of special house rolls, some of which are listed around the walls of the dining room, and not featured on the actual menu. Our rice was slightly warm, making it somewhat unappealing for a raw roll. Overall, Tokyo Sushi Bar is not a bad place, but if you are going to pay the price, there are better options abound.
