Trial run at Belle Glade Country Club. This evening we decided to visit the Belle Glade Country since we had heard it was different. We both ordered one of the two beef offerings which are very small 4 oz filets with different condiments. I am always disappointed when you order a Coke product and they announce they have Pepsi, welcome to The Villages. The menu prices at first appear to be value priced, BUT, unlike most places, it does not include soup or salad. We asked for bread…twice, and finally were told they were out of bread. All other tables had bread. My wife’s steak seemed cook the way she ordered it, except it was ice cold in the middle. Sent it back and they apologized, and offered her a bowl of soup while she waited. I asked for a refill on my ice water which took for ever. After about 10 minutes, the soup was in the same category as the bread. OUT of bread and OUT of soup. By now I have finished my meal and my wife has eaten nothing. She did tell me to go ahead while mine was hot. She finally got her replacement steak and it was alright, a lot closer to RARE than MEDIUM, but by now we had almost 45 minutes invested. Overall, we will most likely not go back for quite awhile. The service was very friendly, but rather slow. I would have also though someone other than the young waitress who was trying hard to save her tip, would have stopped by the table to ask how things were going. Jokingly, since it was after 7pm, I asked the hostess if they were out of everything and she laughed. A few minutes later we discovered, NO SOUP, three flavors on menu, and NO BREAD. We were so hoping this would be good as we have company over New Years, but will stick to the known venues. We normally like individual venues and stay away from franchises, but it is getting hard to beat the value you receive at Longhorn or Outback.
