Busy Hot Spot. We were there 3/13/15, on a Friday night too, very busy but we had reservations for 5:30pm. We were seated inside on time for the 8 of us. Joseph, the manager and our waiter Jayme were very accomodating, along with Angela the hostess. I had Chilian Sea Bass which was good. Some of the other dishes were under par. Being that the seating at our table was changed by us so that the guys sat together and the women the same; one of the entrees was served to the wrong person. Management made up for that error by not charging for an appetizer nor the beer by that patron.
Red Sauce The Villages Lake Sumter.. Went out for a night with friends Saturday Oct 11 2014 to Red Sauce Lake Sumter Florida. We had terrible service. A new waitress was very unattentive, the salad was mostly lettuce hearts. We sent it back with a women manager and she never returned even with a fresh salads, No choice of salad dressings other then Balsimic. No italian dressing in an Italian restaurant?? The entire night was a disaster. Will never go again. Cost us 33.00 for what?????
BASEBALL COACH. We had a group of 6. We were seated next to some curtain and behind the curtain there was some sort of disruptive party going on, people were peaking out from behind the curtain at us. They were in and out of that room often and rude as they brushed against our chairs… Baby shower? bachelor party?I do not like to hurry and eat. It seemed as though we were rushed, the drinks are over priced and very small ounce size. I do not like to overhear the staff complaining about the manager. The food seemed to be quickly thrown together, and more bland and watery than I’m used to eating from Italian restaurants. Skimpy meat portions. I wont bring anyone to Red Sauce again. I cant wait to try the restaurant that replaces this one.
Dissapointed. We don’t get to Red Sauce often because of the crowds and the wait. When we do go to Red Sauce I am looking forward to a very good meal. My favorite dish is the Seafood Spaghetti in red sauce. The good news the pasta was done perfectly as was the sauce. The bad news, the seafood has diminished. Only two very large shrimp instead of three and those were over cooked and rubbery. There were four clams, they to also were standing awhile because the were very chewy. The scallops were overdone and had a hardness on the outside. I counted four pieces. Not four scallops four pieces. This was not a $20 dish.
Highly disappointing. After waiting 15 minutes at an outside table we had to go to the hostess station for menus and get the hostess to track down our waitress. We were barely served our appetizer and the main course was brought out. When I told the waitress we weren’t ready she rolled her eyes and walked away. The food was then brought out five minutes laterby a man. I had to explain to him that this was the second time the food was brought out while we were still eating appetizers. When we were finally ready the same man returned and told me he was the manager. He failed miserably at an apology and said our food was made fresh and wasnt a re-heat.hardly believable since it was cold. Just a few minutes later we saw the so called manager leaning on a public trash can smoking a cigarette. Not a chance I will eat here ever again.
In my opinion, a good dining experience begins with the reservations. We live in Ocala and were entertaining friends and a close business associate from Pittsburg this last week who were vacationing in Orlando. We decided to meet in the Villages since both have business interests there and my husband heard of Red Sauce restaurant and booked reservations ahead of time. When we arrived, the hostess abruptly stated that she did not see a reservation and rudely stated that she could not accommodate us. We were appalled wanting so much for our friends to have a good time and we walked to City Fire, who were extremely compassionate and accommodated us with a table and a magnificent service and dining experience. We later went back to Red Sauce to have dessert and again the hostess stated they were still too booked and appeared demeaning. My husband and I are grateful to have savored many fine dining experiences but Red Sauce will not be among them….it starts with the reservations … And kindness.
The service was half hearted and our server made me feel unwanted once she found out we only wanted drinks!
