Greek Salad???? They are joking…. Served in a plastic bowl, shredded lettuce, filled more than half the bowl. (Yes, shredded) Shredded ham (again, yes) was dumped on top, followed by feta cheese dust. (you know, the bottom of the bag) 2 each of peppers and olives. (yes, 2)The final insult is a squeeze bottle of the dressing, which literally looks like it came out of the kitchen, off some back shelf. And oh yeah, a plastic tongs laying on top.The server couldn’t have been less interested in serving us. Never bothered to refill drinks, until after we received the meal and flagged him down, to do so. They were absolutely empty, when he served the food, but he left so fast, that by the time I looked up, after looking at my food, he was in the next zip code. Wait until you see the price for this mess. My daughter liked her Gyro.
Love it. I am a snow bird and Takis is one of the resturants that I look forward to coming back to. I first fell in love with their greek salad that they serve before the dinner. The dinner that I like is the spaghetti, I used to love my homemade spaghetti but it does not even come close. I have recently tried there pizza, I like their pizza too. Overall Takis is one of the resturants I like to go to while I am in the central Florida area.
Stopped for lunch today as my wife wanted Greek food (2/15/13). Were promptly seated by a rather unfriendly lady. We had been in Tarpon Springs yesterday and had EXCELLENT food at Souvlakis so Takis had a clear a high bar. Unfortunately they didn’t even get in the game. Wife had a salad and I ordered dolmades. At Souvlakis their dolmades are made with rice, meat and excellent seasonings. At Takis, rice and no noticeable seasonings. We made the mistake of having them heated which gave them a mushy, tasteless lunch. I’ve been in a lot of Greek restaurants and enjoyed Greek food but this is nothing but an attempt to capitalize on the ethnic appeal of the Greek cuisine. Not at all worthy of the name.
The chicken pita is wonderful.
The gyros are great! Reasonable prices and enjoyable atmosphere
Good. I have been here a couple times. Greek salad with house dressing is great. Enjoy the Pizza. So far everything has been good. friendly staff.
I was looking forward to this place, as I live in Gainesville and still have not found a decent Greek restaurant there. I had the Greek chicken salad, and it left a lot to be desired. The kitchen forgot the cucumbers and green peppers – pretty key ingredients – but the waitress was quick to bring me them on the side. The lettuce obviously came from a bag, and the tomatoes were pallid and looked like they belonged at Subway. Really disappointing. My boyfriend had the calzone, though, and said it was fantastic.
