Village Residents. One of the worst dining experiences in The Villages. I don’t know which was worse, the service, the food or the attitude of the wait staff. We sat in the grill room and were handed typed dinner menus. We had to ask for the grill menu. 4 appetizers to choose from. The food was bland and they were the worse French fries ever!. Both TV’s over the bar were out of order. We will NOT be back until something drastic changes. This starts at the top!
Terrible night. 4 of us went to Tierra Del Sol on Wednesday evening- they were having the singing waiters and waitress – We had a 5PM seating – You had 5 choices all in the range from 22 and up – 2 of our guests ordered Salmon 1 ordered chicken and myself Lamb. You had choice of soup of salad with meal – The soup was cold, the salad was old tasting – now, the main courses – we waited approx. 45 minutes for our food – the fish waswarm not hot the lamb I had to refuse it. Actually talked with the waiter he sent over the manager, it was just all FAT- he said to me that is the way people like it, plus it was all shredded terrible anyway it took it offour bill – my stomach was so upset at that point I could not eat anything else. It is a very noisy place you can hardly talk with your table – and they were really unorganized. Myself, I would never go back here – The table behind us had ordered prime rib – and they sent there’s back, could not help noticing the manager at differenttables with problems with food. I would not suggest this place.
Best Pizza in The Villages. I stopped by Tierra Del Sol for a pizza and beer, since my SO was out of town and I didn’t feel much like cooking for one. This wasn’t my first pizza there, as we live in the neighborhood and have enjoyed several pizzas at the bar previously. Service, as usual, was quick, friendly and expert. I have been disappointed in the pizza available in and around The Villages, but Tierra is now my go-to spot. The owners are friendly and accommodating, the service staff seems to be mainly long-time employees who like their jobs. And when you order a pizza they throw in a free cream puff for each of you – homemade by the owner himself.
While visiting friends in The Villages, I’ve enjoyed both the Sunday brunch and dinner with Tomaura as entertainment. Rollin is the best waiter ever!!!
Overpriced and poor service. After an hour our salads still had not arrived. And during that period not once were we checked for drink refills.Should have brought my scales…the 10 oz sirloin was no bigger than the 5 oz filet (which was barely 5 oz)
Great Place!!. I recently stopped in at the bar at Tierri Del Sol and had this amazing cheeseburger flavorful, delicious, and juicy. The fries were also delicious, fried to perfection with the perfect amount of salt and crispness, Yum! I also met the new chef John Cakmis and he was delightful. Next time I am in town I will stop in for dinner, I am sure I will not be disappointed.
Wonderful Experience !!!. My husband and I decided to visit Tierra Del Sol after seeing an add in the newspaper. We were there just once in 2 years and decided to try it again. We wanted to sit at the bar but it was full so we sat in the lounge. We noticed that they have added a number of flat screen TV’s a plus but before we could sit a wonderful male bartender was at our table to offer us a beverage and to care to our needs. He made some dinner recommendations. Our cocktails were wonderful. I had Dewars on the rock and my glass was filled to the top and my husband had a mixed drink that he said was very good. I ordered the fish and chips and they were great. Being a New Englander i love fish and the batter was so different and no grease at all. Very tasty and the price was great $8.99. My husband had all you care to eat haddock blackend and he loved it and got 2 more helpings without even having to ask. As small as this may sound I love cole slaw and that was the best slaw I have had in a very long time. We happen to see the chef and he came over to the table to see how everything was…what a surprise…we commented on the special that he was offering (fried green tomatoes) and before we knew it he brought one over to share with a ranch/horseradish dressing to die for. Before we left he brought us a custard puff to take home. On the way out we saw that they had home made cinnamon roll to take home for $4.00. The guest that were sitting next to us were sharing pizza and they eat there often and commented that this new chef John has made all the difference. I recommend that you just give this place a try and I know you will be pleasantly surprised. I was in the restaurant business for over 30 years and you get what you pay for but in this case it was so reasonable and the food was fresh and wonderfully prepared. By the way the cocktails were really inexpensive too. I loved it and my husband travels all over the country and world and hates eating out and he agreed that this restaurant is the closest to home made as you can get. Goodby processed chain restaurants…we found a real restaurant.
