The steak filet teriyaki was great. The chicken tempura was tasteless-with teriyaki sauce that was definitely uninspiring.
We had Bento box lunches and they were well prepared and tasted good. I’m hard on wait staff because I drink a lot. I had no problem having my tea refilled 4 times. Very attentive staff.

Excellent. I have eaten Japanese food all over the world including Japan and this place is great. The teppan grill is awesome. We both had the filet mignon and it was perfectly prepared. In addition the chef puts on a great show. I also had the sushi appetizer and it was as good as any sushi that I’ve anywhere. Nice big pieces of fresh, tasty nigiri. I’m not a big fan of maki, but the rolls were also excellent as far as rolls go. By far the best food that I’ve had since moving to the Villages eight months ago.

Poor service. Had reservations at the Japanese Steakhouse for New Years Eve and was very disappointed by the service. After eating the dinner entrees, we were not asked if we would like coffee or dessert, and the bill was placed on our table prior to our plates being whisked away! We had 5:00 PM reservations and the restaurant was only 1/2 full, so to rush us was not to the server or restaurant’s advantage. We were particularly eager to eat a dessert favorite that my boyfriend recommenmded, but never had to the opportunity to order. Was very disappointed and will never go back.
