Overrated. We went there expecting a good meal like at their sister restaurant Pizzoodles, but were grossly disappointed. The food was adequate at best and my husband left still hungry. I got a glass of wine or I should say a half a glass of wine, not happy to pay the price and feel like I got ripped off. The place was sooo noisy and the staff, although pleasant, were so busy that we didn’t see her until it was time for the check. My husband tried to engage the owner in a small conversation, well that was a mistake. The woman so annoyed and unpleasant that I was nudging him under the table. Not good business honey….smarten up!
Excellent mahi and shrimp tacos. Very fresh! Also had oysters on the half shell. Did not disappoint! I’ll be back next time I’m in Vero Beach.
I can’t wait to come back here. I’m working out of town and always try local food. This place was awesome. Great fried oysters and service.
Everything is very delicious, except salmon in mango sause. And portions are quite small, the best decision to come on is on special days, when you can eat as much as you can 😉
Casual, Wonderful decor and great food!. We were looking for a casual restaurant (on vacation in Florida, shorts are pretty much the only option!) with great fresh fish and an atmosphere where our 3 year-old is welcomed. We found it with the fishack! The decor is special with whimsical designs painted all over the walls. They even made the inside of the restroom stalls entertaining, making them seem better than the average restroom. We had a dozen oysters on the half-shell for an appetizer. I had one that was yucky tasting, but the rest are very good. They have their own homemade hot sauce that is really good- so much so that I tried to get some to take home. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any that was sealed and didn’t have to stay refrigerated. My husband and I split 2 dishes (Mahi Ponchatrain and Shackaterranean Mahi), and we loved both of them. We had dessert, too- homemade key lime pie and homemade peanut butter ice cream pie- both fantastic!
This is my second trip to the fishshack. The first trip featured poor service and cold food. I like giving second chances, so I coerced a friend who had a similar experience. We split ahi tuna and a grilled shrimp salad. It was redeemed! The saving grace? The seafood tastes so fresh. I recommend educating the waitstaff on specials and menu items in general.I would eat here again.
Very disappointed. For starters the waitress clearly didn’t want to be working & no knowledge of the specials. I had Mac & cheese with lobster, which tasted like processed cheese & just a few small pieces of lobster. My husband had the scallop basket & again only 6 small scallops that were over cooked. Very disappointed.
