I think that Ocean Grill considers themselves fine dining. While I wouldn’t necessarily come here for a fancy night out I enjoyed my meal quite a bit. The service was prompt and the food was cooked well. I think the one downside is that the interior decor and items on the table (specials menu with the hand written servers name) were a bit tacky. I would happily visit again on another trip.
Our last visit was April, 1970, with our 3-year old daughter and year old son. We were in town from Gainesville to watch the launch of Apollo 13 from the beach. We dined at the Ocean Grill and loved it. Our nostalgic return this week was delightful, the food excellent (best crab cakes ever) and the casually elegant atmosphere still spot on. Great spot.
This place is average at best. Location is fine. Service a bit slow and food is below average for the area and access to seafood. Some many better places within easy walking distance. Skip it.
