I am very lucky that the Sumo House happens to be the closest Thai and sushi restaurant to my home, consequently we started frequently eating there just out of convenience. But as the years rolled on, I realized that this was no ordinary Thai and sushi house. The food is always, always fresh and delicious. The specials of the day are always truly special and not just yesterday’s leftovers that have been repackaged in order to try to move the product. I have eaten at this establishment now for more than 10 years, at least a hundred times, both with large groups and small parties and I have to say that the service is always prompt, the food is always fresh and delicious, and the unique sushi rolls although not traditional by any means at an authentic Japanese restaurant, are always fun and tasty. The prices, especially for some of the sashimi items are high, but when you consider the cost of seafood and good seafood at that, the prices are actually reasonable. We love this restaurant and we eat here at least 3 or 4 times per month. Highly recommend as the best place to order sushi in Vero Beach Florida. The atmosphere inside is not the brightest but I found the interior to be reasonably clean. That being said, with the proximity to my home we often find ourselves ordering takeout and have never been disappointed with either dining in or getting food to go. PS I recently learned that they are providing live music on weekends during season. Also they have obtained a full liquor license whereas previously they had a license for only beer and wine, if that’s your kind of thing hit this place up on the weekend – sounds like it might be some fun for the younger crowd.
