Finally, a good bakery in the area!. Since I have moved down here, I have felt a void. There were no good bakeries around. The stores that claimed to be a bakery were always just outlet stores for hostess and the such. I am so grateful for Buttercup Bakery. Every dessert I have had there has been pretty good. I was a baking and pastry student at a Le Cordon Bleu, so I know my way around a good pastry. I was impressed. They are a little bit more pricey than most of the things in the area, but remember, you are paying for the quality of the product and the work that went into it.
I must say I was a little disappointed. The presentation of their desserts was not impressive, the scones were not good, and the prices were too high. The inside looked dirty and we saw bees landing on the cupcakes as we were leaving. Cute concept but definitely not executed well

Worth breaking your diet for!. Buttercup Bakery has the best sweets I have ever had! Everything they make is delicious, I have tried almost everything they makes and can vouch for how great their desserts are…you definitely need to try them once and you will be hooked for sure!
LOVE this place. I don’t like this bakery, I love it! Their pasta salad is the best pasta salad I’ve ever had, with tons of feta, olives, capers, organic pasta… oh man I crave it anytime I’m downtown. The desserts are great too and they’re always changing so you can grab something new. Definitely my favorite place in DeLand!
Yummy. My husband had the Pear Tart and I had the Tres Leche Cake, they were both wonderful and worth every penny we spent and I did not think we spent too many pennies for these awesome desserts.
No Bread?!?!?!?. This place is for desserts only. I paid close to $5 for a brownie and wouldn’t have paid that if my daughter hadn’t been so excited by the pretty exterior of thier building. I am sure that if you are ordering for a special occassion they are great but that brownie was definately not worth $5. And they don’t even bake bread?!?!? So only deserts, ok. I won’t be going back, I don’t see the point.
