The chef here only serves quality food made with fresh ingredients from scratch. He literally makes EVERYTHING himself. I had my wedding at Highlands House in May 2015, and people are still raving about the food. My mom says she still dreams about the grouper that was served, it was that amazing. The brunches are very good as well. Bloody Mary bar, live music, and delicious food. Try the fried green tomato Benedict. We went again last night and it was another success. I got the seafood bowl with homemade fettuccine (the broth is amazing), and my mom ate the grouper with veggies. We also ordered the olive oil cake that was made from scratch down to the ice cream and candied orange. Yum! Can’t wait to go back next time we are in the area.
Loved the food and the atmosphere at 1946 The Highlands House. They have a new chef there for a few months now and his menu is amazing. I ordered the lamb entree and my wife ordered the seafood bowl. We also had the cheese board for starters and enjoyed that as well. The live music really sets the tone for that place. I would recommend it to anyone.
I was very intrigued by the creative menu and was very excited to try the Highland House out. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. I had a filet cooked mid rare and I literally has to saw the meat with the knife to get a bite. The meat was incredibly tough and lacked in flavor. In addition to my meal, the app that we ordered was not impressive and well as my girlfriends meal. Sad to say, but I will not return.
