Good Sandwiches. Great chain deli. I enjoy it all.
I’ve been to McAlisters in several different locations and I will say this is the worst one I’ve ever visited. Upon arriving, we noticed that at least 1/2 the tables had dirty dishes sitting on them which should have been my first clue. The service was friendly if inept. We ordered a whole muffaletta and is a good thing we had large teas as we’d have choked to death on the dry crusty sandwich that was brought to us. The waitress forgot our chips not once but twice. The child nachos was a plate of chips and a barely heated bowl of Rotel dip. Refills on teas amounted to pouring hot tea into a glass and not adding any ice. It was just a pathetic experience all the way around. Im not knocking McAlisters in general but I am warning anyone that is thinking of eating here…..Don’t!
Promises, Undelivered. I’ve eaten at McAllister’s three times in the past 15 years. Between visits I think I forget why I didn’t go back. This last time, I’ll remember. Here’s the scoop: The concept and menu are awesome. Full of flavorful promises. Even the kid’s menu is enticing. When you get your food the disappointment sets in. Like, Talking Heads disappointment — THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE; THIS IS NOT MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE! I felt like making chopping motions on my arm, and if you’re familiar with mid 80’s videos you know what I’m talking about. I took one bite and realized that my sandwich (my life? by extension?) came without the promised embellishments. When I brought this to the attention of the staff (sweet, helpful girls, unblemished by life’s unfairness) they passed it off to the kitchen staff and, through the window, I glimpsed their bleached lippy sneers. A few moments later I was gifted with my same plate of partially eaten sandwich with a grudging smear of cheese, when I had expected a new sandwich, made the way it was described on the menu. My husband’s sandwich was similarly disappointing, very bland and unrelated to the menu description. His rye bread was not RYE, and he doesn’t even really like rye bread, so for him to notice….As for me, I made a meal out of the potato salad, which had a nice flavor with the first bite but quickly became too sweet — creamy, sweet mayo uncut by acidity or vegetable crunch. Obviously, given this reminder of our mundane lives and impending future of unmet expectations, we will not be back. On a positive note, the front of house staff was great and the restaurant was clean. Yay!

The food was tolerable but the staff reminds me of carnies from the state fair. If you are getting food after the beach get it to go.
We stopped in for a to-go order after a day at the beach. The service was adequate but the sandwiches were good. It was about $8 a person with side & drink. We would eat from there again.
The food was terrible the servers were extremely rude and I disliked the cleanliness of the store
