To call this place inviting is an understatement. To call this a neighborhood bar would be an understatement. There are regulars abound without the feeling of being excluded. The bartenders always know your name, smiles and friendly faces are plentiful. The food is good and the service is amazing.

This Place Is A Joke. Before you spend your money at Backstreets you should know that the owner (Ernie) slashed the tires of one of his employees that quit to go work at another local establishment for more money. What a scumbag. He’ll never see a penny from me.Other than that, the food is under-portioned and overpriced.

Mobile review. I liked their broccoli bites

Great broccoli bites. With all the stellar reviews we wanted to give this place a try. We visited on a Thursday evening for a bite to eat and drinks. The location of this place is a little odd as it is nestled back in a strip mall type of building so you may drive right past without seeing it. Upon entry into the restaurant we were immediately greeted by two hostesses, not sure if it was an omen or not but at that point but the building lost power for a few minutes. After the power was restored we were seated at a round table near the bar. The environment was lively and there was live music which my date enjoyed. I didn’t like the location of our table, mostly because it was next to the door going out to the patio seating and that is apparently where everyone goes out to smoke. With all the in/out traffic they might as well be smoking inside, which is unappetizing to non-smokers. They have 2for1 happy hour on house wines, bud light and miller light and well drinks, but honestly I didn’t see much advantage as they are $7 for two, so you are basically paying $3.50 each. I think the best part of our meal was their broccoli bites, they were really tasty and recommended by our waitress. I thought their wings were fair, but they only offer them in 10pc baskets and a side of fries was an entire plate. Wings did not come with any celery or blue cheese/ranch which was disappointing. Overall the service and food were fair and the environment was lively. The bar’s demographic was mostly people in their 40’s-50’s and seemed like more of an older crowds local hangout. There was plenty of free parking out front.

How often does it happen that everyone’s choice is a stand out meal? Even the hamburger was exceptional with a brioche-like bun and juicy bite. The shrimp salad had tomatoes and a light dressing amidst succulent shrimp. The crab cake was an especially well-prepared and seasoned sandwich. Even the french fries were light, almost nutty and piping hot. Service was quick to refill drinks and the owner made sure everything was perfect. This is now my favorite place to stop for lunch after a visit to Lion Country Safari.

I have NEVER had a bad meal there. You can get anything from burgers to escagot. Priced very well. Small, a little crowded, but worth the wait. I wish they could expand.
