2 Big Problems!!. I wanted to like Jordans STEAK Bistro but that didnt happen and that would be because of Jordan and the steak! We had a reservation (5:30 pre-theatre) which was honored promptly. The atmosphere was as expected for the end of a strip mall.Service was adequate. We ordered a Prosecco split and a cocktail. The Prosecco was sweeter than described and the cocktail weak.As an app we shared the calamari. It was tender and tasty. We also shared a grilled Caesar salad, while not the best we have ever had, it was OK.For our entrees, my husband ordered the chefs special, surf and turf Filet mignon and three stuffed shrimp, price 50.00 and I ordered the American-Waygu derivative filet mignon, price $50.00. Both steaks were ordered medium, not only did we order them medium, we confirmed that our expectation of medium, pink throughout, was in line with the chefs standard. We were assured that we were on the same page.Do I need to tell you…the steaks showed up barely mid-rare. Normally, I would have let them cook it a little more but I really wanted to taste this special steak at its best and we all know that once you cut through the middle of a steak you are never going to taste it at its best. The owner Jordan, while never apologizing, agreed to have new steaks cooked. When they finally arrived, served by Jordan himself, one was medium (the cheaper one) but the american waygu was still mid-rare and Im being generous here, the center was cool and gelatinous. What did the owner do upon my groan? Ripped the plate from under me and ran, no apology… NOTHING!! I made my husband eat his (the one cooked correctly), mostly because he would not have been able to enjoy the theatre if he was hungry and paid the $127.00 bill, while I went without diner. Two Big Problems A steak house that cant cook to the ordered temperature and more importantly an owner who doesnt care!!
Meh. Very disappointed, overpriced for mediocre cut of meat. They Do do not age their meat, so $50 for a regular steak, Mussels where bad, told the waiter he took them away and left them on the bill. Had to remind him to take them off the bill. Steak was fresh the seafood was aged! Perfect way to ruin a date is serve bad seafood.
Overpriced fare, mediorce service. After reading a few of the positive reviews, I wanted to give this place a try. It is a small bistro located on the end of a strip mall with indoor and outdoor dining. Parking can be a little tight and there is no valet like other high-end bistros. Upon arrival we noticed they had a small bar and cozy interior, but were somewhat acknowledged at the entrance but had to wait a few minutes for someone to actually come over and seat us. There was only two other tables in there when we went, which I would have expected it to be a little more popular. Their prices are above average for the fare and service offered. Plan on spending over $100 for a couple without drinks. I went with their signature bone-in ribeye as I wanted to give it a try, I ordered medium and it came out medium rare but wasn’t a huge deal as the meat was tender. The portions were a little smaller than expected for the price point, for instance the wedge salad was not even a full wedge but more of 3/4’s. The waiter recommended the shirmp and their signature sauce, which I am glad I ordered on with the sauce on the side as it had the flavor of how a toilet bowl mint smells, which was unappealing. I had my date taste it and she said the description was really accurate, anyways glad I got it on the side. My dates meal was under-seasoned and bland so she asked for salt and pepper which was never served even though the waiter came back and apparently realized he forgot and apologized but by that point the food was already consumed so it really didn’t make a difference to bring it. I wanted to try their brussel sprouts and bacon side, but after eating some of it they should change the name to brussel sprouts and feta as there wasn’t any bacon in it and the feta wasn’t even mentioned in the description. From where we were sitting we could somewhat see into the kitchen area, and after waiting awhile for our food it was apparent that the cook staff were back there on their phones which was rather annoying. Anyways, we both concluded that we wouldn’t be returning and this place was nothing more than an overpriced bistro with mediocre service, we will stick with our other favorites instead. Once we stepped out the door the owner did stop us and asked how things were, but way too late as I didn’t feel like going into it with him and after the long wait just wanted to get home as we were there for almost two hours while he was talking to practically the same couple the whole time.
Overpriced. Food not that great for what we paid. Service could have been better
Just what Wellington needed. Great atmosphere, very good food, reasonable prices. Cheeseburger, Veggieburger, onion soup, house salad all great.
