Good, consistent.. It’s good. But more importantly, it’s the best Mexican in Melbourne. I usually get the El Hefe Margarita and top shelf queso then the top shelf fajitas for my entree. I have had better Mexican, but none around here. The service is always very attentive and friendly. I’m not sure what the deal is with the Mexican places in Melbourne, but this chain beats them all.
Fresh guacamole, skip the cumin and add more jalapenos. Friendly service & prices.
Ok Mexican Food. Met my parents for dinner at El Chico’s the other night before leaving Melbourne. Our waitress was very attentive and the food seemed to be made fresh to order even if they were almost the only people in the restaurant since they were about to close. We started our meal with beef taquitos which were so hot I almost burned my mouth. I then had a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup, my Mother had the Moma’s Favorite Taco Dinner, and my Father a Mambo Combo. It had been years since I had been to an El Chico and given this experience I would consider going back when I am in the mood for Mexican food again.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I think everyone who has a negative comment for this place is CRAZY! Service may have its bad days but the food is totally worth it! I have been several times and tried something new almost every time and never been disappointed. I had the Carne Asada and it was FANTASTIC! Go I promise you will not be disappointed.
Not sure. Went here two times, the first time i went i asked how much the kids meals are,it took three peole including the manager which even she didn’t know to figure it out.. Then i had a piece of plastic in my salsa, they did give me another salsa,i also find the chips they bring out before the food gets there to be a little to salty..Food was ok! The second time i went the hostess was outside talking on the cell phone and seem to care less we were waiting to be seated, about a min later with no other people in front of us we were seated. i got the all you can eat platter, well when i reordered they messed up the order three times,i started to think they did this on purpose so i wouldn’t order anymore.i think it was the cook that came to the table to bring out my food because the waitress was no where to be found, this happened more than once..Again the food looks good but it just was ok,tacos were good..Place looked clean, price a little high, service was not that great but most spanish resturants i find have bad customer servive, food was ok.. Looks like could be a nice place to go once in a while to get a drink and some tacos…
When this place first opened, my husband and I went for drinks and appetizers. We ordered some kind of spread with refried beans and chips. After my second bite I realized I was chewing and chewing and beans shouldn’t be that chewy! I then pulled out of my mouth a piece of wadded up Saran wrap that was in the beans!! After informing the manager, instead of an apology, we got accused of planting the Saran wrap in our food! We refused a replacement, paid for our food and left NEVER returned again
