This place is wonderful if you like waiting almost an hour for breakfast…. then when it comes, the omelet has a piece of sliced cheese slapped on top with hair stuck to it as if it fell on the floor and they plucked it off the floor and put it on the omelete. I’d rather eat mcdonalds food than this dump.
Love the name. My grand-parents names were Fred and Ethel. My husband saw your sign in Melbourne and told me. I can’t wait to eat here.
Terrible service, waited 15 mins for a menu, wait staff has no customer service skills at all, food was terrible I ordered homemade waffles that were so dense they were like hockey pucks, I could have wallpapered my house with the grits and add some coffee to the hot water they served as coffee, I overpaid for bad food and service, I will never go again if your thinking of trying this place RUN AWAY FAST. Go across the street to Harper city diner or Sweet tomatoes you’ll get better food and won’t be disappointed.
The waitresses are a little inattentive they don’t wear uniforms so they have no unity and they refill your ice water with a pitcher of room temp water? The food is well below average, the grits taste like water, the eggs are overcooked and rubbery, and the sausage gravy tasted like it came from a can. Not recommended.
Great service. Went there for breakfast. The food was good but I really like the service. The servers were very good and very friendly. I will go back. Jenn and Kathey were great.
First visit in years & LOVED it!!. I remember coming to Ethel & Fred’s for breakfast over twenty years ago with my grandparents when visiting the area. They loved the home town family business flair as well as the great food & reasonable prices. We live here now & I brought my own kids for dinner.& We LOVED it – for the same reasons. This isn’t a pricey, fancy culinary arts place. It’s a family oriented local restaurant , was clean, good food.. not fancy but hearty and good. The friendly service added the home town happy & comfort we love. We WILL be back !
French Dip**best in town**. If you love French Dips please visit Ethel and Freds!! The service is first rate(they all work together) and the place is spotless!! You will wish you visited sooner!
