Portions as large as their menu. I’ve been here a few times and the food and service are overall very good. I found it a bit weird that their menus would list a fee for sharing an entree. Either way, it’s close and I’ve never been disappointed.
I have heard they make a great burger. They must have a new cook because the burger I got was dry and tasteless and it was there blackened burger. Blackened usually means pressed into a spice mix then seared making for spicy peppery bite. The only thing I could taste was the blue cheese. A cook that smashes all the juice out of a burger, shouldn’t be working in a restaurant that supposedly makes a great burger.
Slow Service, Dirty Cups.. I don’t write many bad reviews, but sometimes ya gotta say something, . Now imagine seven servers standing around a dark dingy bar, all bickering over who NOT to serve. Then imagine being seated at a dirty table and having to stand and wait for a dirty dishrag mopping over the table you will be served. Now imagine waiting 8 minutes before you leave your seat, walk up to the darkened bar at the front, flag one of the bickering servers to wait your table, only to be served a cup of coffee from a filthy mug (something encrusted just below the inside rim) We left. I can’t imagine what would happen next. Avoid this place at all costs.
Inconsistent in Service & Food Quality. My wife and I have eaten at Harbor City Diner many times over the last 5 years. Some days the quality is excellent, and on other days, it’s questionable. We decided to try again tonight with their New York Strip Steak & Shrimp special. Though the Diner was not busy, the Kitchen was seemingly way behind in orders. It took about 40 minutes to receive our food. The Steak, ordered medium was very tough and grisly, and a big disappointment. My wife always orders hers medium well done, and it was uneatable. The shrimp was actually very good and the baked potato was passable. Our waitress was pleasant, and obviously trying very hard to make it a good experience. She sent the manager over to address our complaints, and we were offered free desert or cake, which really didnt seem the proper way to handle the situation. She acknowledged they had changed meat providers and maybe that was an issue. The prices have gone up , the quality has gone down, and their customer service is nonexistent. I hope others have better luck there.
One more time. Ate here twice. First time was awesome.SSecond time I felt sorry for the waitress. Whoever was cooking made a mess of my order. Hope they get it together. I really enjoy their food.
I did not like how management misled me and charged me a dinner price when I asked for a lunch portion and price during lunch time…for an item for my daughter. After ordering I clarified twice with waitress…who was very nice and assured me yes this would be a lunch item not a dinner item. When she rang it up ….she was not able according to management to ring as lunch so I was charged a dinner price. I paid the dinner price but I would not return here or bring my large family and extended family here again. As new residents we were looking for an inviting place to eat once a week near our home. We were so turned off by the decision to make ..6 bucks than to modify to lunch price and portion after being told so that we called back to inform management. Needless to say, the manager was not very inviting and tried rationalized the decision….terrible custer service and food just so so…
The owner is very unprofessional and rude. Hamburgers cooked a day before. Not made fresh.
