  the chicken is tasty, but, very very very small pieces. are they cornish game hens they use? for the money you get more meat on the bone at kfc or popeyes, or krispy crunchy chicken. the rice is good and you get more than you get beans to be able to eat all together. i suggest larger chicken pieces and more beans. fried yucca i love. they need to fry it longer. it’s too soft. in panama and puerto rico there were fast food restaurants that used fried yucca in lieu of french fries. tasty, in the same shape as french fries. pollo tropical should adopt that. these suggestions are positive constructive……when i lived in pr the chicken pieces were larger.

  Don’t Get the Tangy Pineapple Salad…It’s Terrible.. This review is about the Tangy Pineapple Salad with Chicken now being promoted. It’s TERRIBLE…don’t get it. The pineapple is cooked, white (not yellow ) , not sweet, and seems to taste more liked it’s been jerked…it doesn’t even taste like pineapple. The dressing they give you is just some oily tasteless stuff as well. If you do get this salad, get your own sweet sauce off the salsa bar inside; don’t use the stuff they give you with the salad. I got this salad this evening using the $1 OFF coupon. I’m glad I saved a buck. Wow…I thought this would taste as good as it looked on the coupon. VERY disappointed. I like the Tropi-chops and some of the other food, but this salad is going to drive customers away.

  DONT GO!. I’m sorry I wanted to like it so much because I LOVE POLLO!!! But not this one. I have been to many locations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Being a Miami native and all I was very excited about them putting a Pollo Tropical here until I actually ate the food. My girlfriend ordered her Tropi Chop with onions and peppers. She LOVES onions but let me tell you they must have been rotten or something before they were cut up because it was the most DISGUSTING taste I have ever had in my mouth. There was a mound of them on top because she asked for extra so it literally made the entire tropic chop taste rotten even after taking them off because the onion juice. We also ordered a whole chicken with yellow rice and black beans. The chicken was cold and looked like it had been sitting there for HOURS not to mention the yellow rice is a joke. No flavor, more like something you would get from a Chinese buffet. The black beans were laughable as well. Im cuban/dominican and know what black beans are supposed to taste like. Goya canned black beans would have tasted better. They had no flavor what so ever. We were given a full refund, thank god. But that didn’t make up for the taste that was left in our mouths. Never EVER going back. My favorite Pollo Tropical is in Miami on 37th ave and 7th st NW Miami, 33125. I will never return to this sad excuse for Pollo Tropical.

  First visit to a Pollo Tropical. The menu on the wall behind the counter does not explain the ingredients of the salads, so we asked. My daughter does not like peppers or onions on a salad.The girl running the register acted irritated to have to answer and was very abrupt and did not say peppers or onions so that is what she ordered. Of course it had both, but since the woman at the register was rude she would not take it back. People with attitude shouldn’t be coming in contact with customers. Black beans were watery and flavorless.

  Not the best, but not terrible. Pollo provides decent quality food with a very fast service. This is a fast food, so their food will never compete in quality with other restaurants in the area. They are pretty cheap.
