Better at Chinese take out. We started going to Red Ginger in West Melbourne when they first opened. They had excellent food so that was our Chinese go to Restaurant. Today we decided to go for a late lunch. We ordered two Sushi Rolls, which were very good. For the main course, my husband and I decided to get the Red Ginger Spicy Chicken. We have had it there before and it was an excellent dish. Not today. The chicken was lukewarm and did not have the light dusting as it did in the past. It was soggy and it tasted like a frozen General Tso chicken with a thick coating. The spicy chili sauce tasted like they mixed it with Buffalo wing sauce. This restaurant has really gone down hill. My husband and I looked at each other and decided to check this place off our list. What happened RED GINGER?
Major disappointment. Have visited this restaurant 2 times prior and found the food to be wonderful. Visited today for lunch – wow! Is this the same place?? The egg rolls were warmed up and tasteless; the hot and sour soup was beyond awful – the rice was reheated; the meat dishes were disappointing. I would think twice before going again at those prices! Too bad, really enjoyed our prior dining experiences there and we looked forward to going today – what has changed in this establishment to have caused such a negative turn around? So sad – good bye, Red Ginger, our love affair has ended.
Not for vegetarians. Don’t go here if you have any sort of food sensitivities or allergies. After specifying that we needed a vegetarian meal, meat was mixed into the plate that arrived. The manager refused to compensate us for that entree and was very rude. It was definitely not what we expected from a place that charges so much for generic chinese food.
This is a GREAT place.. I have to say… really sad to see some things that cruel and ignorant people want to write as a so called review. We have been eating and enjoying happy hour at Red Ginger since we moved here in December. They have really wonderful , tasty food. A really great staff and gentle sweet owner. The General Manager Jeff is awesome! He is one of the kindest and most gentlemanly people we have met in many years. This guy is always welcoming, honest and kind. I mean this guy rides his bike to and from work every day! He is anything but how this cruel person describes him. He works hard, supports his family and is always accommodating. I can only imagine what kind of person would spend their time writing such a cruel and ignorant so called review. If you don’t like the food.OK say that! Or service.OK say that. But you are just mean, cruel and really ridiculous! I wish there was some way I could prevent these folks from having to read such a terrible statement. I hope they see this first and realize that there are those of us who appreciate them and honestly enjoy their food and restaurant. Great staff! Great Bar! Awesome Facebook Page! Real People actually! Kind, true and real! Keep up the great work you guys, and don’t listen to this fool!
Very good dining experience. Most of the dishes are Americanized, but if you want authentic traditional just ask for their secret menu.
$8.50 for a kids meal. Food was ok but not great. Over priced for quality and portion size. I don’t think we will be going back.
