Great Value, Good Food. $8.95 for all you can eat lunch, hibachi & sushi included. Seemed clean, service was efficient. My only complaint is that not all of the sushi rolls were labeled. My husband had two big plates of sushi & was satisfied. We would eat here again.
VERY tasty sushi rolls except the Tempura Shrimp roll (tempura was soggy). Tempura veggies were not crispy either. Dragonfruit is yummy.
Go for the Sushi not Buffet; Buffet food needs to be hot not luke warm. I agree with dkjeffery. Last time I went there the buffet food was luke warm. It needs to be hot. If this was fixed the overall experience would be better. I didn’t eat much sushi, but the rest of my party did and enjoyed it. I mainly ate from the buffet and my experience wasn’t as good because of the luke warm buffet.28 Aug, 2013Lunch $8.95 till 3:30P (Weekedays?). Just stopped by to give this a place a try. Arrived about 2:40P and still a good selection of of Sushi and Sashimi. Also a good selection of cooked items available for your friends that don’t like raw (similar to Chinese Buffet). Dessert similar to Chinese buffet. $8.95 for lunch is a good deal available till 3:30P (not sure about weekends). I ask for a to go menu but they didn’t have one. Dinner is $15.95 but that includes lobster and other seafood items. I’ll stick with lunch. My party of 4 liked it. Soda’s $1.75 / Hot Tea was Free. If all you can eat Sushi/Sashimi is your goal and you don’t have much time to wait for it, this is the place for you.
Sakura. Nice atmosphere but disappointing tatse. I was there on a weekday at 2:00 PM. Didn’t like the sweet-sour sauce, had to ask for nice (not on the buffet can u believe it). Excellent service and nice atmosphere, the food/display looked good but taste not so hot.
Bad, all very bad. Quite possible the worst restaurant in all of Melbourne. Obviously something has changed at this place since the positive reviews. The rice was terrible, noodles were terrible, sushi looked like a 5th grader made it, the majority of the dishes were COLD. The fried dumplings were dried out. $9.50 – for lunch – you’ve got to be kidding me. Will never go back – go to DAO Japanese Buffet instead.
Wonderful Date Night Buffet!. When I began to date my boyfriend Robin, I learned about Sakura. I was not too happy at the prices though. Robin is japanese so I thought it would be an excellent idea to take him there for a date night. The ambiance of the buffet was amazing. Even Robin was impressed at the decor. I do think they charge a bit too much for the buffet since there is not much to choose from. I do enjoy their Tempura sushi and their noodles (always get it when I go) I also like other things. I think this buffet is great for a date night. Everyone has different tastes buds so I will let you be the judge on the food. Me and Robin love this buffet and hope you have the same experience as we did!
Terrible selection. Sushi was good but rest of buffet was awful. Ice cold tempura Hibachi was very lacking. Overpriced for what they offer. Very few fresh healthy choices
