We went here one night for a date as we wanted to try something a little different and the Alchemist didn’t disappoint. We were promptly greater and seated, this spot really has a unique vibe to it and it is refreshing to see something different. Our waitress was really prompt and the service was surprisingly good. Their pita and hummus was actually a nice surprise in lieu of the traditional table bread and really tasty. As a pepper lover, I had to get us started off with their fried Shishito peppers which I have to say didn’t disappoint. For the main course I chose the lamb burger stuffed with goat cheese and was very pleased as the flavor profile exceeded my expectations though lamb isn’t really for everyone I loved it. The matchstick truffle fries were also very good and highly recommended. My date got the carnitas tacos, which I have to say was a let down. She didn’t finish them so I got a chance to try them and honestly wish I didn’t the flavor wasn’t there and it was really soggy/mushy pork just wasn’t half as good as your average mexican restaurant. Hindsight was kicking in saying maybe the pork belly tacos would have been a better option. Anyways overall our experience was pretty good and we would likely return again. Would recommend this for someone looking for something a little different.
Cool spot in Clematis in West Palm Beach! Food was great. I visited the place because I recently heard about an addition to the neighborhood. It’s nice to have variety increasing in West Palm. First, I was provided complimentary house made hummus with pita bread….delicious gift from the kitchen. This is a great alternative to butter or olive oil. Second, I had the Peruvian Panca Grilled Prawns….succulent. The prawns were tender and juicy with nice flavor. The house mango slaw added color to the plate and brightened the prawn flavor plus cleansed my palate. Nibbling on the skewer afterwards provides remnants of the delicious prawn. Third, I had the Tuna & Caviar Cones….fantastic. The enjoyed the Floridian yellow fin tuna garnished with the tobiko caviar. The tuna just melted in my mouth and the slightly salt from the caviar accentuated the freshness of the tuna. I also liked how the mini cornets provided a crunch for the dish without overpowering the tuna. I will definitely go back and try other items on the menu. I look forward to the presentation and flavored to come. Lastly, Jamie was a splendid bartender. She was casual, comfortable, and knew the menu so was able to guide me and provide knowledge of the cuisines from the Alchemist. Now it’s time for me to practice alchemy….ha, ha!
