Don’t get it.. I drive buy this place all the time and since I am new to Fla. I love anything with a island theme. From the outside this place fit that bill so I went in one night for a beer. I did not order any food so I am able to review this. There was karaoke that night which next to trivia night is pretty annoying but I just could not figure out what this bar is trying to be. Will give it another visit.
Great food / excellent value / friendly service. Went for the early bird special. $9.99 gets you a choice of a cold beer, glass of wine or well drink, soup or salad and choice of entree with one side. Entrees are Grilled Chicken or Tilapia, Fish & Chips, Chicken Florentine, Chopped Beed Steak or 1/2 Rack Baby Back Ribs. I ordered a cold unsweetened iced tea then opted for the soup – Delicious New England style clam chowder. Really flavourful and satisfying. For my entree I chose the baby back ribs with backed potato. The generous 1/2 rack portion of ribs were perfect. Fall off the bone tender, not swimming in sauce (Waiter kindly brought me more) and not fatty. The baked potato was a good size and cooked perfectly with plenty of butter and sour cream on the side. Most restaurant never give you enough butter for your potato so this really appreciated. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the specials and soups of the day,funny and there when we needed him. Excellent service!Although I have lived down the street from Island Jacks for many years this was my first visit. It definitely will not be my last,
Portions are HUGE. Beer is cold. I had the Fish & Chips which were good. It was Trivia & though the Trivia DJ was entertaining, his mic had technical difficulties.. The bartender Dave introduced himself to everybody who sat down at the bar. It’s a fun outdoor/indoor bar & grill.
