Top Italian restaurant in Florid. I have now eaten here 5 times in the last two months, and each meal has been terrific. Even though most nights I have walked in close to closing time, the owner and the wait staff have always welcome me and never rushed the meal. The food is genuine Italian, this restaurant would succeed in Italy. It is truly a hidden gem.
Always pleases. Had not been in some time. Will not stay away that long again. Big big yum people!
We are foodies!!. The money is spent on the food not the decor. I love this old school Italian hidden gem. Ask the palm beachers where they dine off the clock!! Off the island!! We love table 42, because its in a corner, the kids are corralled and Poppy can hear. Dover sole is the best in town, table side! Veal!!! Simple key fresh produce.. Hidden gem of in off key location, but we know our food. Sorry, to you folks that didn’t have the same experience. We have never had a bad dining experience. —don’t come if you want young wait staff, do if you want experience tenured staff. –don’t come if you want new, this is place is full of old school flavor, Ask for Fulvio, he came with the furniture!!
The Worst. This is my first ever written review.been on the site for 2 yrs but never felt a need to express an opinion. We dine out frequently, but have rarely encountered this level of indifferent service, poorly cooked food, and an over the top host. First, the host objected to my wife putting balsamic vinegar on her mozzarella salad.he said it makes him sick-really? Next they brought me the wrong dish(ordered osso buco but received chicken francaise). Waited 10 minutes before my main course reappeared- my wife had already finished her meal. Then i got the bill and was overcharged fr my house wine. The host said I was wrong, even though I showed him the menu price was $2 less than I was charged. Oh, did I mention that my wife’s veggies were limp and mushy. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience on my birtday. The place is tired and worn looking. I would never ever go back there. How have they stayed in business. Overall, the food was mediocre- even after they corrected all the problems.stay away. Proably the worst value and dining experience in Palm Beach county.
Walking right into the bar made me sort of feel like I was in a pub, let alone a moderately priced Italian restaurant. The hostess wasn’t nice, but wasnt mean either. Our waiter, an older man, came over to the table practically screaming. I mean, you kind of have to since the place doesn’t have the best acoustics, but still… It was unsettling. And he seemed to care just as much as the hostess. The wine list was expansive, and they were very prompt about everything. The interior was rather quaint, but the ceilings and ceiling fans could use some updating. The bread is complementary, but wasn’t anything special. Same goes for the butter. Dont get me wrong, this is a great restaurant; the only reason I’m being critical is because it is overpriced. At a place like this, I would expect the entrees to be about 10 dollars each instead of 20. If that were the case, I’d give two thumbs up.
Perfect neighborhood Italian restaurant, once you get inside. Attentive service, great specials plus classic Italian favorites, reasonable prices, what’s not to like?
Service Was Poor. We have been to this restaurant many times and have recommended it to many of my friends. It is reminiscent of Italian restaurants in New York City’s Little Italy. The food is excellent especially the veal.Prices have risen 30% in the past few years, and it would still be worth it if the quality of service matched that of the food. Unfortunately it does not even come close. In Little Italy, waiters treat you like you are a guest in their home. In Stresa’s they treat you like you are an annoyance to be tolerated. Service at this restaurant has been declining for years. When I’m paying nearly $60.00 per person (with tax and tip) I expect to be treated professionally. Our waiter was curt, condescending, arrogant and insulting. He literally ruined the meal.My guests were shocked because I had recommended the restaurant so highly. There are many other fine restaurants in this area, I will not be going back to this one nor will, I am sure, any of my guests. If the level of service that we experienced is now typical of this restaurant, I don’t expect them to remain in business much longer.
