What a selection!. They have to have the nicest staff in Tampa. Their Easter selection was dazzling. Have never been disappointed with their food or bakery items. Always something to try.
Friendly, tasty, heaven.. Always greeted by happy people, everyone’s knowledgeable and honest about what’s good and what’s REALLY good. Love this place.
So disappointed!. I have had Alessi’s sandwiches before and have always been pleased. I have even purchased sandwiches from their booth at the Florida State Fair in previous years and found them to be of good quality. On February 11, 2013, we stopped by their booth at the state fair to pick up a Cuban sandwich as we were leaving. If we had unwrapped it to eat at the fair, I would have attempted to return it. The Cuban bread looked like it had been removed from the oven much too early. It was positively anemic! No color whatever, and while it wasn’t doughy, the texture was all wrong. It hadn’t even formed a proper crust. Beyond sub-standard.It took only a few bites to deem the bread inedible. We picked out the filling and gave the worst Cuban bread I have ever had to the dog.
Believe it!!!. Can you say fresh baked goods? Cream filled treats?, Savory turkey and yellow rice, candied yams, cabbage, empanades…deviled crabs and so much more to fit your taste buds. They bring out the heritage and love for the dishes they prepare. You will neither be disappointed nor hungry after you experience what they love to do best please the customer. Friendly almost sounds like frequently and thats what you should do, to Alessi’s….KING Cuban is my staple
Baby Shower. Nice job on my daughters baby shower cake..
Best of the Bay. Alessi’s is possibly the best bakery I’ve ever been to. Definately, the best I’ve found in the Bay area. There is a huge assortment of pastries and baked goods as well as sandwiches and lunch items. I buy the cannoli’s for co-workers whenever I go there and they are a huge hit. You know they are good when almost every italian restaurant/market in the area uses their cannoli shells. I’m glad to say I haven’t had one bad thing there and despite always being busy their service is impeccable.
Guava pasteries!. I always seem to stop by Alessi Bakery to pick up a few items, and all the things i had picked out were always so good — I keep coming back again. The bakery selection is simply outstanding!I highly recommend that you give the guava turnovers a try. The guava they use is more a jam consistancy than a jelly – and it was just delicious. These were worth the trip alone! I did not try any of the other flavors – but I could have had any of them locally in Norfolk – but not the guava!Do give the platanos upside down cake a try. If you like pineapple upside down cake, think you will have a new favorite. One of those desert items you woudl think you would come across somewhere in the tropics. One of them made a perfect quick breakfast.Big hint on sandwiches – that Cuban Turkey Reuben is incredible!
