I visit this spot almost every time I’m in Tampa, never disappointed. The wood fire gives the steaks a distinctive flavor. Portions are generous, bar is heavy handed and satisfying. Not a cheap spot, but the experience does not disappoint.
A group of friends get together for cocktails and dinner about once a month. For the last year, we have been caught up trying many of the new restaurants in town. Recently, however, one Tampa native recommended we go to Charley’s next, and we are so glad we did. The atmosphere was classic and cozy, the food was phenomenal, and our server Shelly was very knowledgeable and attentive to every detail, from cocktails to choice of entrees to after dinner drinks. Even better, we were not rushed to place an order, complete our meal, and clear out so another party could take our table; rather, we were encouraged to relax and enjoy the experience.This was a first visit, but certainly not the last, for several in our party! More than just a meal, this was an wonderful social & dining experience! I immediately began spreading the good word on social media last night. Thanks for a superior dining night out!
Amazing!! Ask for Gary the head bartender. He knows how to pour a proper drinkSteak tartar. AmazingBison rib eye. AmazingYou will not be disappointed with the food or service
Not pleased. Our RSVP was for 7 our wait time was ok. When we sat down and ordered our food, we had to wait over an hr for the main entree our server barely checked on us. When we finally got our steak one was hard and we barely couldn’t cut it. They were very busy but this fine dining people will not return.
How Can It Be This BAD?. If zero stars was an option that would be my rating. Friends invited us to Charley’s and the company was excellent. Everything else was really bad. The server was in a constant state of confusion and made mistakes at every turn. Too many to mention. And the food…..AWFUL. The shrimp cocktail was overcooked and chewy. I ordered my pork chop done (no pink) and it came rare. The put it back on the grill but it still came back to me very pink inside. They just didn’t seem to know how to cook meat. The broccoli they served was so overcooked, I wondered if it was canned. The salad dressing tasted like cheap vegetable oil and vinegar. Bland and tasteless. My husband was shocked at how tasteless his filet was. Asparagus came with a big glob of cheese on top when we specifically asked for no cheese on anything. The salad also came with cheese. Drinks are fine, but overpriced compared to other high end restaurants. They offered a free dessert for our troubles. The creme brulee tasted like sweet eggs. The eggs were curdled. Will never return….
