Not too shabby. In a crowded world of BBQ, it is sometimes hard to separate yourself from the pack. Holy Hog’s food is special. I had the Burnt Ends. The ends are cut into cubes served in a sweet BBQ sauce that I found delightful. The Q is served parchment on a platter. I like this type of plating. Reminds me a bit of 4Rivers in Orlando. The sides are what can really make you or break you at a BBQ place. I am a pig, so I chose the Green Bean Casserole and the Mashed Potatoes. The Green Bean Casserole is very much like the standard Thanksgiving fare…and good. The mashed potatoes had my eyes rolling back in my head. I am guessing yukon golds mashed with butter and cream. The fries were thin and had Lawreys Seasoned Salt on them, not my personal favorite. If there is anything that was less than perfect, it would be the service at checkout. The person was in the weeds and not too happy about it. The collection of money should always be the restaurants favorite part of the transaction lol.
We went to the Holy Hog in West Tampa recently. The food was fine, but not necessarily the best in town. We arrived at dinner time, and the main problem was the inadequate seating. There are maybe four or five tables inside, which were all occupied, so we ended up having to sit on stools at a counter, which directly faces a wall, resulting in our having to eat while staring into a wall about six inches in front of our faces. There were two tables outside, which were wet from the recent rain. I’m surprised that no other reviewer has commented on this.
Holy Hog BBQ, downtown TampaVisited the HHBBQ while in Tampa sightseeing on Monday, October 13, 2014. The smell was captivating and inviting. We continued just to see what else was around. However, we kept talking about the smell of BBQ. We stopped in and decided to try this place. Super friendly staff!! The staff offer us their recommendations and we order a BBQ turkey sandwich, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, jalapeo Mac and cheese, root beer, and pumpkin pie soda for only $20!!!The food tasted amazing, good lunch portions and a great downtown vibe.Would we go again? Most likely not due to distance but if find ourselves in downtown Tampa we will definitely stop by.
Terrible Service. Very poor customer service. I have been twice recently and the lady behind counter was rude both times. Acts as if serving you is a major inconvenience. Others in resteraunt were complaining about her attitude too. I will not me returning. The BBQ isn’t good enough to spend my money to get that service.
Absolutely delicious! So happy I decided to try the holy hog everything I ordered was exactly how I liked it! No disappointment defiantly my new go to BBQ! Best okra & Mac n cheese on the planet!
