Better Check before Leaving. Better places not far away!! Jimbos will continuously mess your order up on take out. It has happened to me more than 3 times in 4 weeks. I called the manager to tell him about it and he hung up on me. Normally wouldn’t leave a bad review but bad service along with so so food… Save yourself the trouble and go to Holy Hog!!!
We were really looking forward to trying Jimbo’s after so many recommendations. Unfotunately, not impressed. Not bad, but ribs were cold. The green beans had no taste, even with the pepper sauce and the cole slaw mediocore. The highly acclaimed hush puppies were the highlight of the meal, but eat them fast. Once cool, they are best left on your plate.
Bench tables BBQ. Traditional southern BBQ. Good meats. Sauce needs work. I’ll be back. Low price.
Hushpuppy Heaven. I read the reviews here and saw many had been talking about the hushpuppies so figured it was time to try Jimbo’s. The pull pork sandwich was good and their BBQ sauce was ok, but now understand why everyone is talking about a side dish now. Those hushpuppies are two shades above awesome – and that may be an underestimation on my part! Well worth a return visit for!
POrlando sandwich was awesome. The hush puppies are delicious. The onion rings were OK. I’ve had better but I’m really picky when it comes to onion rings.
Best BBQ in the downtown area… I’m a bit of a BBQ afficionado and I know good BBQ when I come across it. There are bad, good and a few great BBQ joints out there.Jimbo’s is good BBQ, the meats are freshly prepared as opposed to some other places where you get yesterday’s or last weeks BBQ. The pork, beef, chicken and sausage are all good. Their ribs are tender and not overcooked as is very common at most BBQ joints. The star of the show is the hushpuppies. I’d of never thought that hushpuppies would pair well with BBQ but boy was I wrong. Would like to see a spicier sauce option and possibly brisket on the menu, but theres little to complain about. Drop in for a meal and you’ll be glad you did…
3/5. When it comes to the BBQ in Jimbo’s Pit Bar-B-Q, I find it okay. Not ah-mazing, and not bad. Not memorable either, sadly. What I do love? The atmosphere, very friendly low-key folks. And the sides, I am in lust with their mac and cheese and could go and order just that. I also love their hush puppies and onion rings. Their BBQ pork sammie is okay but honestly I have had better. Worth trying for yourself, just don’t expect a 5/5 or you may be disappointed. casadecrews.com
