We don’t really have options for dim sum in Tampa and this place definitely can satisfy the craving. Inconsistent though. I’ve had a good Peking duck there before. Only ever go for dim sum though. Sometimes you really have to flag down a server and there are many young staff members, but everyone is nice. All the dumplings, the tripe, chicken feet, turnip cake, sticky rice, rice soup, sesame balls – to name a few go-to’s.. The owner is a sweetheart
Ate last night at Westshore location. Spareribs were cold. The sauce was good but meat tasted bland. We ordered Cashu Chicken and Mongolian Beef. The chicken tasted like it was boiled with no taste. The sauce had no taste also. I found very few cashus and one almond. The steak was a little better but had very little taste and was served without sauce. We asked for some. The sauce we got was better then the chicken but not very good. The meal was not cheap but we would have been happy to pay whatever it was if the food had not been so bland.
Good Food but Not Careful in the Making of It. This was my first time coming to PF Changs and for the most part I enjoyed the food. I went with my mom and step dad, we ordered an appetizer of the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and it was good but as my step dad finished it he spit out the last bite to find a Shard of Glass in the food. We told the manager and he said he’d tell the chef and honestly didn’t seem to know how to take care of the situation. I work in the food business and my step dad is a chef, and we were disappointed in how poorly the situation was handled. They took of the appetizer and gave us a small gift card but in my opinion that was nice for them to do but we didn’t feel they put in effort to makes us feel comfortable again with our experience tonight. The rest of the food tasted great but with the circumstances I was a little afraid to eat my food to be honest. The food tasted great overall but that’s a mistake that shouldn’t have been made and is very unsafe.
New menu and staff. We have gone to this place off and on for the last 2 years. Recently they changed the menu and the staff is better. The food is much fresher and is coming out hot and fresh. (A few previous visits the food sucked so bad I wrote corporate to complain)The new menu is much better especially wit the new lunch menu. The waiter was great and was pretty quick with drinks, refills and food. I applaud the changes and improvements. I would highly recommend the Shrimp with the candied walnuts and melon it is so good!! The Crispy Honey Chicken is good but no veggies came with it?? They have improved the salad (with the lunch menu) and it is very good as well. The egg drop soup was okay nothing to write home about (needs something to bring it from bland to interesting maybe more eggs?)
Not Chinese food. This is an Americanized bastardization of some sort of asian style cuisine. And overpriced. Fail.
Love PFChang. The service and food are excellent. We are regulars.
Better than Average. Excellent Food.. PF Changs has such a reputation, that theres not much new to say about it. The food is fantastic, as is the ambience. Of course, youre paying for it, so certain things should be a given. Indeed the food and dcor were wonderful, the service… a bit less than I expected. We were a party of eight, and the party part is appropriate. It was a friends birthday. We were greeted promptly, by a very pleasant hostess, and, after a little juggling with a party of 5 with the same reservation name, we were showed to our table. After waiting about 10 minutes, a waiter came to take our drinks order. He specified that he was not our waiter, but was asked to come to see us because our waiter was late. Really? Did we need to know this? Anyway, he explained the happy hour policy, which was ending in 10 minutes, and took our orders. Our drinks were delivered by our regular waiter about 20 minutes later. My martini, which I requested up and icy cold, was not… probably from waiting on the bar for delivery. The members of our party who ordered the Berts Gin and Tonic were told they could only have the one, because they had the last bottle of tonic water. For the record, my second martini was equally lukewarm, so I suspect more of a problem at the bar. And at more than $11 a pop, I dont expect to have to add ice.Okay, enough complaining. After this, everything else about dinner was wonderful. Three of our couples ordered the dinner for two plan, the others ordered appetizer selections. The Dinner for two is a great option for those unfamiliar with Changs extensive menu, which we were. And we were encouraged by our waiter to share, which we did. The Crab Rangoon, the Handmade Pork Dumplings, fried, and the lettuce wraps were all amazing. Very tasty, with dipping sauces and condiments mixed at the table. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Spicy Chicken, Ribs, and Dynamite Shrimp Entres. The flavors explode on the tongue. The dinners were truly amazing. Our desserts included a sweet treat or two dessert won tons, which we brought home with us.Overall, I have to give PF Changs a resounding thumbs-up. It was a shame we had the opening mishaps, and Ill stick to easier bar selections or soft drinks, but appetizers, entres and dessert, combined with a very attentive waiter, definitely made up for any earlier faux pas.
