Horrible since move. This place moved and I believe new owners. They r absolutely horrible!!! Tried to give them another chance today and still horrible! Customer service, ha there is none!!! They r slow, and can’t even give u coffee with ur food or before it! They r not friendly and ugh! Go someplace else, not worth it!! Skimpy on food, no coffee cup lids to go! They r ridiculous and they r unapologetic for all their lacking. Not family friendly! Bathroom was dirty, dusty, hair everywhere and just gross for a new place. Looks like it hadn’t been cleaned since they moved in! This place used to b awesome with the guys that were always there now they have miserable unhappy women working here! They aren’t worth the time!!! They deserve no stars!!
Do NOT order from their website!. You WILL get spammed by the restaurant on a FREQUENT basis if you order from their website. I ordered from it once 2 years ago and though I gave no consent to receive offers, I get the same email from them over and over. And they violate the CAN-SPAM act by not offering a way off their list. Responding to the email and requesting that I be taken off seems to have fallen on deaf ears, as I still receive their offers.
For now it’s a like. Tried it finally on a Friday for lunch. Got the Angry Cuban which is the Cuban with jalepeon’s and Mayouk’s which is right down my alley. Comboed it and get the hand cut fries and was offered the free gravy. Ok, sure. Also ordered my wife a Reuben Cuban to go with kraut and 1000 Island on the side. The balding gent manning the register was friendly but forgot everything about three seconds after he was told it. It was kind of funny. It happened over and over. My order took at least seven minutes by itself.Sandwich came out good. Crispy toasted bread and creamy hot insides. Mostly good sandwich and the heat was medium and left my lips tingling. Fries were good but could have been hotter and maybe a bit fresher. Had to get up and ask for the gravy which is simply a small cup of brown gravy in a plastic cup, maybe an ounce or two.Lots of other sandwiches to try as well on the menu. Will try a few more times before I form a formal opinion on them for the long haul. For now a qualified like.
Yes, it is an excellent Cuban!. Stopped by Saturday to pick up a Cuban and stuffed potato and was really impressed with the Cuban. The meats were all three of good quality. Salami was especially tasty. I thought the amount of meat was just right. And it is served traditionally – no lettuce or tomato. It isn’t even on the menu. I asked and you can get it, but you have to request it. So that debate goes on, but with or without – its still a damn good Cuban. Now the stuffed potato – an order comes with four small pieces about the size of a golf ball. They were deep fried to perfection. The potato part was very light and had a good consistency. The meat filling was a bit shy and they went down in one bite feeling for like potato balls than a stuffed potato. But they had the best dressed kitchen staff of any sandwich shop I’ve been in. (The manager said they had just come back from a catering event.) First time I’ve ever had a sandwich prepared by a woman in full make-up and long ear rings! But the incredible Cuban will bring me back for sure. Very well done, especially for a bunch of South Tampa gringos!!
I work in the area and have been to the Floridian a few different times. The breakfast sandwich isnt bad. Prices on the sandwiches are ok. Prices on other items arent so great compared to the portions. The last time I was there I walked in around 10am one employee was there, the lights weren’t on, she never greeted me Or said hello, i waited to be helped for about 15 min even though there was only one other customer in the place. I left after i was not acknowledged.
Liked the sound of a great Cuban sandwich, so I stopped in on my way down Kennedy in Tampa. The fries were supposed to be real good, so I got a combo. The sandwich was decent, but just average. I guess it’s supposed to be like this, but I’m not a huge fan of the hard bread. It gets crumbs all over my clothes and scrapes up the roof of my mouth. The fries I got were burned. They said I got the last portion of fries for today, but offered another side. I opted to try a dipping sauce. The creamy horseradish was a good, mildly chunky variety and their signature spicy sauce is like a slightly spicy beef gravy. It might be good on a steak sandwich. I think it says something that they locked the door behind me when I left and closed up early.
The one in tampa is not the og floridian. The real one is in treasure island and is much better. The idiot that opened it up n tampa changed alot of the original things. I rrcommend the one on the beach thatsthe one thats been there since the year 1993
