Woody’s Wildwood – Best kept secret. Woody’s in Wildwood (just off the FL Thruway & near I-75) is a best kept secret…but not for long!!! This Woody’s location was closed briefly a year ago (2012-2013) but has since reopened. With the reopening came a much better experience for the diner. They offer fantastic fall off the bone baby-back ribs, one of the best macaroni & cheese dishes plus other BBQ sandwiches & dinners with 4-5 different types of BBQ sauce. They don’t just serve NC vinegar based sauce, but also molasses based sauces. Your choice…they are at your table. Lunch menu meals are available even at night if you want a lesser serving, plus Early Birds of 20% Off the ENTIRE menu. Great deals! Check it out – it’s well worth the drive.
Good food and friendly staff. I recently had a craving for corn nuggets and decided to check out Woody’s BBQ in Wildwood FL, one of the few restaurants that has them on the menu. I had never eaten there before, but was so impressed with the quality of the food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and fast service, I returned for a second visit the following week. It is under new management and judging by some previous reviews, things have really turned around! I had baby back ribs on my first visit and beef brisket and Carolina BBQ the next, along with corn nuggets (YUM!) followed by their awesome home made pie. The Brunswick stew, which you can add to your meal for a small fee, is delicious and the early bird discount from 3 to 6 PM adds the icing on the cake. Give it a try!
Great BBQ, no. Terrible BBQ, definitely NOT. I will be honest, I’ve been to worse places. If this were the only game in town I would definitely eat here again. Its South Carolina BBQ so not my favorite, I feel like everything I had could have used more seasonings, and if this happens the side sauces usually provide some relief. The three sauces they provide were also missing something. At least the servers were nice and gave you something to look at.
Only if you are desperate. If you are desperate for a barbecue fix this place will do. I guess I wasn’t quite desperate enough yet.Feast for 4 was on special for $30…….Ribs – forgettable, fatty, not tender, were they smoked? = BBQ chicken – dry = Sliced Pork – good, not great, but a little fatty = Coleslaw – fair to good. = Barbecue Beans – one step up from Campbell’s canned pork and beans = Corn on the Cob – being French fried does not add to flavor or texture = G-bread – hard to mess this up = Sauce – no standard sauce, but 4 choices: sweet, vinegary, mustard, hot =
