Amazing food and service. Loved our visit!!! We had the sharing plate and it was amazing. The bread appetizer was amazing. We have totally annoyed our dining experience here.
Bosphorus in Winter Park is one of my favorite places to eat. They have delicious food and great service. My go to entrees are either the Lamb Sis Kebap or Doner Kebap. They both come with rice and a tasty, colorful mix of veggies. I would highly recommend dining at this restaurant!
Great food and service. Get the lavash bread. Goes great with hummus or the assorted apps if you have 4 or more. Lamb and chicken dishes are very tasty. Especially lamb and chicken kebabs. Their version of a Donna kebob with the buttered pita is very authentic. Had it years ago when I was in Turkey.
Bospohorus is located right in heart of winterpark midst many other respected restaurants. Parking is good in nearby Amtrack lot. They have patio and enough indoor seating but reservations are always recommended. Ambiance is very nice with studio lighting. The staff is nice and considerate. For the appetizers, you have to try the LAVAS ( Hollow Bread), their signature bread creation. Its huge, almost the size of an Indian bhatura but baked and not fried. The smell itself waters your mouth. With the bread, we tried the Mixed Appetizer (Karisik Meze) which was a combination of humus, babaganoush, sauted eggplant, tabbuli, ezme, tarama, haydari, and stuffed grape leaves. This itself was fantastic. The Falafel (A mixture of chickpeas, celery, parsley, and green onions tossed in spices and fried, served with tahini) was good but not something that will sweep you off your feet. So average was the Spinach and Feta (Ispanakli Pide)( A thick dough crust stuffed with sauted spinach, onions, feta cheese, and topped with fresh tomatoes). The entree Vegetable Saute(Guvec) (eggplant, green beans, zucchini, potatoes, carrots, and garlic in a savory tomato sauce ) is good for tangy tongues. The Turkish Coffee is authentic and satiating. For deserts , we tried the Turkish Pineapple Delight ( Layers of sponge cake, pineapple, mousse, candied pineapple, toasted pineapple and topped with white chocolate )and it was something very different and should be tried at least once. The Pistachio Gelato is very rich and creamy. The Kunefe (dough stuffed with turkish sweet cheese, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios and baked ) is their signature desert and truly awesome. Cost of little more than average but the experience was truly good.
With a outside patio ideal for people watching or for your beloved pet’s day out, Bosphorous is perennial popular favorite for people looking for regional/international cuisine. There isn’t much creativity with the ambiance or service, the emphasis on Bosphorous is their flavorful cuisine. A staple each time I visit is the hot, giant. fluffy lavash bread with I greedily scoop with the mixed mezze platter: combination of humus, babaganoush, sauted eggplant, tabbuli, ezme, tarama, haydari, and stuffed grape leaves. Each dip is bursting with freshness and flavor and even spice. A great option for the vegetarian soul. The falafels can run on the dry side. The kebabs on the other hand are SPOT on. Especially the mixed grilled platter gives us the opportunity to taste various cuts of both lamb and chicken: doner kebab, chicken and lamb adana kebab, chicken and lamb sis kebab, & chicken and lamb kofte; served over rice glistening with clarified butter, pickled onions, and cabbage. And to finish of our delicious meal – Kunefe, Shredded filo dough stuffed with turkish sweet cheese, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. Baked to order, served warm is to DIE for!!Consistent, fresh, flavorful – Bosphorous is a must on our park ave visits. theprimlanikitchen.com
The service was bad. Why bad, because I had the same server two times in a row and both times with a sarcastic/fake smile, the second time he was rude and made a rude comment to my guest! Its Winter Park! Great area, what was that? I brought with me dear friends to try the place, the server was rude to them and I was soo embarrassed. I thought one of my friends didn’t leave him no tip, so I left him ! What was I thinking. And me and my friend ordered the same thing, but two different dishes came. The server, with a rude voice said we ordered different dishes. Didn’t even try to listen or figure out, or apologize, it was his mistake. I am sure he still works there. It was in July, outside table, a guy with braces, medium hight, actually short, dark brown hair, seemed like a teenager. Also, like other ppl stated, the menu is hard to understand. I ate there several times so I was a little familiar, but still had no idea what I was getting.I wont ever go there again, and I freaking hate the kid, because a month later I still talk with my friend abt it and feel bad.
Great food, but less than average service. Slow and unfriendly service takes away from the great quality food.
