OUTSTANDING overall. Despite some of the negative reviews, I decided to come have breakfast here with two other of my foodie friends and we were very surprised by how awesome the food, service, and coffee was! It was definitely reasonably priced and our server …Tina maybe?(not sure on the name) gave us some delicious suggestions. I went with the burger club and boy was i sure glad i did..probably not the healthiest recommendation but yummy for sure. they have thick center cut bacon that I have heard jim phillips rant about a time or two on the radio. Hot coffee, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. check it out for yourself
Been eating at the diner for years. I have been coming to the diner since I was a little girl with my parents over 25 years ago. I have since enjoyed bringing my husband and my children every single weekend. The staff at the diner always treats us so well and they give the kids attention and always make us feel special. Angie knows our drinks and gina knows our orders. We dont even have to tell them, its great!! Sometimes i get lucky and get to sneak out to lunch during the week and meet some girlfriends at lindas. We love their balsamic spring salad with blackened mahi..and that homemade dressing is something else, finally I can buy a bottle of it from Linda so i can enjoy that salad dressing any night of the week. I love the diner and all the people that work there. Without them we would all be hungry 🙂
Bad Wait Staff. I’ve been going to Linda’s Winter Park Diner for sometime now. Food is always good inspite of the awful plates…I just had to write something about the waitstaff, my latest visit with friends was less than satisfactory. Gina was our waitress and had a phone stuck to her head almost our entire visit. Her hair was also nasty and ratty and we all checked our food before eating it for hair. Often times it was extremely difficult to get her attention and when we did she acted as though we were troubling her. Her arrogance is second to none and we will never be back again…
My favorite Greasy Spoon!. From time to time I enjoy having a big breakfast from a Diner or Greasy Spoon establishment. I realize that to many this is NOT Fine Dining, but to me it is comforting and in many ways I prefer it to going somewhere Fancy. They are by no means healthy, but every once in awhile I like to indulge. Lindas Winter Park diner has been one of favorites for many years now. When I lived on that side of town I would get off from work around 3am and I would wait until 5:30am when they opened and be their first customer. The Food is standard, the prices are affordable, and it is the type of place where the waitresses remember you even if you havent dined there in over a year.I was there recently and had my usual, Bacon & Cheese Omelet, with Home Fries and Wheat Toast ($6.50). There is something about their Omelettes that I just love! Instead of the Eggs and Ingredients all being mixed together and then grilled it is like the Egg forms a Burrito around the crispy Bacon and melted Cheese. I also am quite fond of their Home-Fried Potatoes. Im pretty sure they just drop them down in the Deep Fryer because they are always perfectly browned on all sides. It is probably my favorite breakfast around. My friend had the French Dip with Fries and was very pleased with it as well.I had purchased a Groupon where I got $20 worth of food for $10. This more then covered our meal and we both left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
Interesting story. I don’t remember being especially happy or sad about the food or service at Linda’s Winter Park Diner, but I had an interesting experience there. I guess I dropped my wallet on the floor as I was leaving the table, and didn’t realize it until I was across town. I raced back, and asked the guy sitting at my table if he had seen it, and looked around on the floor, but it was nowhere. The waitresses actually told me they suspected that guy, who was sitting there, as he was somehow shady or something. A few hours later, they called me, telling me they had found my wallet, so I rushed back to reclaim it. They had found it inside the toilet tank, where someone (that guy?) had stashed it after he took the money (a couple hundred bucks). I guess the guy was never even asked about it. I had no case.
Old traditional diner with family of cooks. If you like good traditional breakfasts and especially omlets this is the place to go. The bacon is lean and reminds you of Canadian varieties. Try the three cheese omlet with a fresh baked bisquit and of course the bacon. Lunch time varies each day except weekends when breakfast and brunches are supreme. Sheppards pie is the Tuesday fare for the scots in the world. The carrot cake is really good but the portion requires a buddy to complete. The atmosphere is family with Linda and her daughters providing friendly smiles and good service. Angelina will bring your drinks and joke with you. She is the best. This is a traditional family restaurant with a good cook that has been with Linda for many years. If you are into fancy places with white tablecloths please do not enter. If you are looking for a local mainstay for business owners and travelers alike, enter and be satisfied with a large menu with the fifties twist. Those hand dipped milkshakes are the real thing so stay awhile and enjoy conversation with jet pilots, city leaders, trades people, well drillers, accountants, actors and just about every variety of person that passes the Fairbanks area. This reviewer has eaten here for many years and can recommend this diner/restaurant without hesitation.
