I came here strictly to try their highly advertised coffee. But before I get to that, let me explain how I almost didn’t get to the coffee bar. You see, this place had so many unusable doors, it was pretty embarrassing having to figure out the correct entrance into the restaurant… And then entertaining watching others do the same. Even the uber friendly staff seemed robotic at pointing people to the right door. But if you’re a better observer, then simply use the door that’s facing Park Avenue and not the fancy door on the side… Or the separate bar area-turned kitchen. Or you can use the crowded back door if all else fails. At least you don’t have to worry about emergency exits.But back to the coffee. I ordered a cafe mocha from a long list of your typical coffee drinks (latte, cappuccino, etc). It ended up tasting like a watered down version of American coffee, which is already watery enough. No hint of chocolate. I’m hesitant to go back and give this place another try, perhaps try a regular latte, but consistency is important and they already failed on that in my book.
LOVE IT!!!!. I read the reviews below and have to disagree. I have been going here for years and the owners are like family. Everything I ever order is fresh and never messed up. I know the cooks work their ass off and for people to call the food gross is so disrespectful. What if someone came to your work and told you YOU suck? Anyways, they have succeeded for 11 years for a good reason. Try them yourself!!
Atleast the coffee was hot! Everything else was awful. Food, service was ok, and the atmosphere… I would honestly have rather used my money strolling the avenue than wasted there
Palmano’s Trattoria is a Local Treasure. This beautiful, intimate setting is a rare find. The owners are wonderful, welcoming hosts, the food is consistently delicious, and the service always fast and friendly. And all of this with your choice of private courtyard, front row on Park Avenue, or air conditioned indoor seating. I love this place!
Not good. Turkey wrap was awful. Lettuce was old. Even the simplest dish: yogurt and fruits was bad. The fruits tasted old! No wonder is always dead. I should have known better when my table was the one with people on a Sunday afternoon!!
Blah. I went here for dinner one night. My boyfriend and I waited entirely too long for our food (which was not anything special). We sat inside by the wine bar where the owner hangs out. He was quite obnoxious and kept yelling at the staff. Our waitress was obviously distressed. Not a pleasant dining experience.
Just Awful!!!. This could have been close to my worst dining experience ever. The food was awful, the waitress was at least pleasant.The owners of this place take the cake. They are rude, had obviously had too much to drink, and made it very clear they could care less about their customers. I am absolutely baffled why people with this disposition would ever get into the restaurant business!There are plenty of nice restaurants all up and down the street, do yourself a favor and skip this one.
