Good Not Great. Food was average. I wouldn’t rush back.
Negative Reviews Confirmed. Unfortunately the ambience is all this place has to offer. The Manager is rude and the food is absolutely awful. I have never had a meal that I couldn’t at least get through. Please spend your money elsewhere, it’s not worth it.
If there was anything less than one start I would give it. My husband is on active duty for the US Navy, and had the 4th of July weekend off. We decided to visit this restaurant and the owner was SO DISRESPECTFUL I couldn’t believe it. He called the police on us, said he didn’t give a s*** if my husband was military and he wasn’t fighting for his country because this country isn’t HIS. We ordered a plate and were unsatisfied with the presentation, so we asked for an exchange. The owner refused to do so, and asked us, no…. DEMANDED we take it home. Not only would he not exchange it, but we were being charged for it. So he proceeded to call the police and tell them we didn’t want to pay for the entire bill. Needless to say we spoke to the officers and they made him take off the charge and he was not happy about it. This is NOT how you treat costumers, especially OUR HEROES. Even if your not from this country, YOU LIVE HERE, and are BEING PROTECTED HERE by OUR MILITARY SO SHOW SOME RESPECT.
Manager is a jerk!. I was shopping next door at the Ancient Olive with my mother in law and I had my 2 month old daughter with us. She was ready to eat and crying in the store so I went outside to not disrupt other patrons to feed her. I sat down at one of the outside tables at the bistro, which were all empty by the way, as were most of the tables indoors. I was giving her a bottle when the manager or owner, Hugo I believe his name was, came out and asked if I was ordering something. I replied No, sorry I just needed somewhere to sit while I feed her. Her proceeded to tell me to sit on the wet, moldy looking stone bench across the way if I am not ordering something….. Excuse me sir? Are you really not going to let me sit at a table for 10 minutes while I feed my daughter???? There is no one else out here and no one waiting for a table anyways? He rolled his eyes, threw his arms in the air, let out a heavy sigh, shook his head and walked away.. What a jerk!!!!!!! They will never get my business, I don’t care if the food is good or not, what kind of person does that?
No Food for Money. Asked waitress about fried oyster platter and she said a lot of people like it. My platter had eight oysters each smaller than a piece of popcorn with some lettuce and no dressing ($17.00). I commented to her that they were awfully small. She had owner come and I made the same comment. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. GOOD LUCK STAYING IN BUSINESS IN WINTER PARK BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY GREAT RESTAURANTS.
Great Lunch. I have been told about this place several times but I finally got the chance to try it today for lunch.THe menu had so many great choices I had a hard time deciding. The waiter finally helped us make some terrific choices. The chef stopped by our table to great us as well. He told us that if we are ever there and would like something that we dont see on the menu that we should just ask for it and he will make it. Now that is VIP service. I cant wait to return for dinner with my boyfriend sometime soon.
Diane served us & she was terrific. Food was good, nothing outrageous but good. Had the portabello mushroom & my friend had the Reuben. Atmosphere & service made it.
