(9/24/2017) Came for the Magical Dining month menu. Was somewhat disappointed (almost false advertising) there’s no pig on the Ravenous Pig’s tasting menu. I like trying many things at a new restaurant, I can’t help myself, started with the Bread Plate (pretzel bread/taleggio fondue, gruyere-chive biscuit/smoked salt butter, spent-grain sourdough/poached pears). The biscuit was the best of the three, flaky and butter, a little aromatic from the onion-y chive, and rich from the gruyere cheese, pretzel bread was very darkly brown, very chewy (in a good way) like a bagel, nice with the cheesy, salty, fondue. Spent-grains (from the brewery’s mash) sourdough was chewy and sufficiently tart for sourdough, the least indulgent of the bread sampler (yes, it just seemed too healthy). Also, off the regular dinner menu, got the Portuguese Sardine Crostini (sauce Romesco, fennel-orange, frisee, Spanish olive vinaigrette), pretty large fillets of fresh sardines, grilled and served on thick, toasty bread. The vinaigrette was nice and tart and complemented the oily, fishy, fish very well. From the Magical Dining menu, started with the Steak Tartare (blue cheese tart, pickled maitake mushrooms, figs, shallot, lemon curd, basil). The meat was ground quite fine, had not much texture to it, was interesting on top of the cream cheese-based short crust tart (overwhelmed the meat a little, all the creaminess). The sweet fresh fig was a nice sweet touch, as were the slightly tart pickeld mushrooms, but I did want for a little more contrast in flavors, like more zip in the lemon curd, or something punchier (parallel to the traditional mustard and capers). Had the Beef Shortrib (with brown butter mashed potatoes, and roasted mushrooms) for the entree. Was not quite like any shortrib I’ve previously had. Generally, you expect a braised or slow-roasted either parallel or cross cut section of the plate (with actual rib bones). This was an English cut with the meat removed from the bone to look like strip steak, was somewhat stringy, but beefy in flavor, not quite fall apart tender, and covered in a sticky, sweet glaze. Desserts were microscopic, served in precious teensy canning jars. The Chocolate Tres Leches somewhat less moist than what I expect of tres leches (which in my mind should be dripping with milks). The peanut butter ice cream garnish did moisten things up some, but certainly, we could have used more of it. The Horchata Panna Cotta was smooth and light and had the requisite flavors (cinnamon and vanilla, slight almond flavor from rice), and a nice contrast with the crunchy, puffed rice garnish). Service was very professional and efficient. The Magical Dining menu was a steal for the quality of the meal. The hipster farm-to-table trendiness seems a little out of place for central Florida (the land of monster chain restaurants and commercialized happiness), but we recently moved from the northeast coast, so this is pretty much what every new restaurant is shooting for.

The Ravenous Pig was a great choice. The atmosphere was sexy and sultry, however a little loud. Our waiter Alex was super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Pork, it was perfect. I recommend it!

Favorite restaurant in winter park, never disappointed, no matter what you order! Local as much as possible and always with fresh seasonal ingredients. BE AWARE: gets very loud at night, horribly loud you can’t hear yourself speak. But the food is worth the headache, for sure!

I love this place! Everything is always excellent!! I love the changing menu ( although there have been a few things I wish I could get that are no longer offered by the time I go back!) it’s pricey, but worth it. Great menu selection as well as great beers available. Love the terrines, I’m always up for trying something new and am never disappointed.

Had a nice dinner tonight with the wife. Got the bone marrow. This was my first time eating it, I’m sure I was cooked great but I personally didn’t like it. It has a very buttery, salty, oily taste. I didn’t complain but seeing that I didn’t eat much the amazing waitress took it off the bill. We also had the white truffle chicken for 2 I loved that.

My wife and I have been going to The Ravenous Pig for years and have always enjoyed exceptional service and food. We love the unique cocktails and craft beer selection, and the ever changing menu keeps us coming back!

Fan-FN-tastic!!!Right up there with Marmalade as our favorite meal so far in 2015.Nothing over the top at The Ravenous Pig,just a comfortable setting along with good food.On the day of our reservation it was pig roast day, so menu service was not offered,it was more or less prix fixe .It did not matter because everything brought to our table was flavorful, the portions were nice and the service was outstanding.
