Great TastesWeve not been to a Taiwanese restaurant before, so we were looking forward to this experience. And we really enjoyed what we got. The cuisine seemed more similar to Vietnamese than Chinese. The restaurant is simple and smallish. It is located in the Midtown Promenade (Trader Joes and Midtown Art Cinema), so parking isnt too difficult. The person in charge on our arrival was a bit testy and controlling (think Seinfeld Soup Nazi), but the server was quite pleasant. The food was all very good to fantastic. Creative Loafing recently made a particular recommendation for the Dirty Bird Bao which was terrific. They also recommended the Beef Noodle Soup which had nice flavor, but the noodles were thick and a bit gummy. The pickled veggies were wonderful and the sticky fried rice was great.I would definitely return.

It’s like Chinese Tapas…. Delicious food and friendly, casual service. This place offers tapas-style dining: soups, small plates, large plates, and bao (Bao are Chinese sandwiches made of a sweet puffy dough, about the size of a large dinner roll or biscuit). The Dirty Bird Bao was judged to be the best according to other diners, and I agree. The beef tongue bao was also very good. Portions sizes were generous and the dishes were surprisingly filling. Great place for a quick, casual meal.

Awesome awesome food. Go here now. Make sure to order the dirty bird. The only warning: if you order mochi for dessert, they will warn you that it will take time. It is not an idle threat.
