Little GemWe finally found our way to Alons. I had thought of it just as a bakery. I love bakeries but I try not to visit them too often. But here there was so much more.We got a bowl of delicious tomato-basil soupperfect for a damp and cold winter day. The salads and sandwiches looked very nice too and we were tempted. Instead we went for the Opera Cake. I dont usually go for this type of thing. Typically, they are filled with a lot of overly sweet creamy stuff. This one, however, was dense and rich and extremely yummy. The latte was really good, too.Staff was all pleasant and helpful and parking is easy since they have their own small lot.
Amazing coffee! Best in the area by far. I love the atmosphere, plus the location is great. You should try snagging up some passion fruit macaroons while there! Definitely worth it.

Great food! I came mid morning and had their chai latte and the Napoleon (layered custard dessert). Amazing! And their lunch menu is delightful. Good assortment of sandwiches. The atmosphere alone is half of the appeal. Just lovely and peaceful. And super friendly staff.

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies. These cookies are amazing. I am a chocolate chip cookie conisseur. The chocolate chip cookies are some of the very best I have ever had but the double chocolate chunk cookies are unbelievable. Hands down the BEST cookie I have ever tasted. The chocolate chunks are still gooey a day or two later. The texture and taste cannot be beat. Oh if only I could make cookies that great!
Great food, poor service. Alon’s has some of the best food, albeit pricey, in Atlanta. But the service, particularly in the cheese department is rude. I traveled 25 miles to get cheese suggestions for a couple of great bottles of wine. The ‘cheese-person’ was not there and when asked for help, told the staff person he was on break and would not come out to answer a few simple questions. A nice girl helped me who knew nothing about the offerings, and kept apologizing for her staff member’s behavior. Don’t worry, I’ll keep going to Whole Foods!
